imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 How many years of control does the Jays have for Donaldson now?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 This proves one thing. Either AA was forced to go "all in" in 2012 to produce a winner, or he has learned how to efficiently acquire wins and talent. Either way, who gives a f***. Fap. You can go all in and f*** it up (see 2 years ago). Clearly AA has learned something. He seems to be properly valuing defense for the first time.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Shields would be incredible. Big game James FTW !!' Yes. If AA got him I wouldn't even complain a ton when he starts Goins at 2B to begin the season.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Jays have too much WAR!!!!!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 How many years of control does the Jays have for Donaldson now? Four years!!! through age 33. His prime years.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Now for ultimate fappage, someone post the combined money that Bautista, Edwin, Martin and Donaldson will make next year. Or average, I don't care. Jose Reyes -> $22,000,000 Josh Donaldson -> $8,000,000 (?) Jose Bautsita -> $14,000,000 (!!!) Edwin Encarnacion -> $10,000,000 (!!!) Russell Martin -> $7,000,000 (!!!) Total: $61,000,000
Chappy Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Yes. If AA got him I wouldn't even complain a ton when he starts Goins at 2B to begin the season. f*** Goins, Devon Travis FTW.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Chris King tweeting that there may not be a hitter in the minor leagues with a better potential hit tool than Franklin Barreto Well f*** that, we just got JOSH DONALDSON? This is why I dont like the deal in the long term. Should have kept Barreto or Lawrie and throw someone else in.
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I know I'm excited. I'm just thinking about Franklin Barreto. I was so excited about him I know hes young but felt his bat would shoot him through the system Example A of why you don't get attached to prospects. And that's coming from someone who gets way too attached to prospects. JOSH DONALDSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SAAviour Verified Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 So I guess AA goes for Bryce Harper now as a left handed bat? Trade them....anything.

Spoonovic Verified Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 This is why I dont like the deal in the long term. Should have kept Barreto or Lawrie and throw someone else in. Barreto is a prospect. Prospects aren't guaranteed to be anything.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Steamer has Donaldson as only a 1.8 win increase on Lawrie
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 This is why I dont like the deal in the long term. Should have kept Barreto or Lawrie and throw someone else in. As stated earlier, we have the best 3B in baseball under control for 4 years which is one more year than Lawrie. Exactly how long term are you talking?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Jose Reyes -> $22,000,000 Josh Donaldson -> $8,000,000 (?) Jose Bautsita -> $14,000,000 (!!!) fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Oh my god is anyone listening to the fan right now.... "Donaldson is no where near Sandoval". Obviously he's not. How many rings does Panda have vs. Donaldson? Exactly
Chappy Community Moderator Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Anyone who would rather pass on a chance to get a 7 WAR player in his prime making well below market value for an often injured 1.5 WAR player, 2 backend starters/long men, and one top prospect probably needs to quit following baseball. AA just s*** his souvlaki dinner down Beans throat.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Hutchison - I just seen the news on the TV, definitely shocked. brett meant a lot, anytime someone gets traded, it's part of the game, you're not really surprised. but..i'm shocked for this one, and im looking forward to meeting him
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 This is why I dont like the deal in the long term. Should have kept Barreto or Lawrie and throw someone else in. Well you then likely don't get Donaldson. I love Barreto as much as anyone but he is not a dealbreaker when you are getting Josh Donaldson.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Steamer has Donaldson as only a 1.8 win increase on Lawrie If Lawrie plays 130 games I`ll eat my hat.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 If Lawrie plays 130 games I`ll eat my hat. repost: Brett Lawrie games missed due to injury: 185 Josh Donaldson games missed due to injury: 6
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Donald won't make 8 through 1st time Arb will he? I believe Donaldson is projected to get 4.5M next year.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 If Lawrie plays 130 games I`ll eat my hat. If he reaches 100 I'll be surprised
