I love the trade. If you're going to spend prospects, Donaldson is the type of player you spend them on.

 

If we had just signed Martin and called it a day with Boston improving, it wouldn't have been a very good offseason. This trade makes it a great offseason. As a harsh AA critic, I guess I'll be eating crow barring another catastrophic season like 2013.

Donaldson is older and I guess he wanted more depth. There is potential for this deal to be better for them in the longrun its just a bigger risk.
