Gose thought he was God's gift to baseball. Guess God wasn't too keen on the game.

We talked about it. Gose is like the Anti-Pillar. Everyone thought he had all the skill to be an elite defender in CF and a great source of speed on the basepaths. That seemed like his floor. Meanwhile, Pillar was thought to have the ceiling of a role player. Just goes to show how little or how much a player can do depending on how much of their potential they realize.

Hahahaha I saw Travis post game interview, this guy is quickly becoming my favourite jay. He's so f***ing cool

Agreed

I like everything about him

Holy s***, I remember when Handsome Jake got traded instead of Gose in the Marlins deal, much to my chagrin. Turns out it was for the best!

Marisnick, Snider, Gose all traded away and not missed one bit

Pillar thankfully kept. Question is, did AA really know something, or did no one actually even WANT Pillar? (I'm guessing the latter but we'll never know)

Why not i already got one 2 weeks ago before it was cool.... Kinda ahead of the curve.

Unless you mean Travis Snider then in that case.... Of Course!

Marisnick 65 wRC+ over almost 1000 MLB plate appearances. Almost zero extra base power. Yuck. Worse than Gose actually!

MLB Network just compared Travis to Altuve based on his approach and the coil of his lower half on his swing.

There are some similarities. Obviously it's highly unlikely Travis has that high of a ceiling talent-wise. But he looks great.

Was Altuve much of a prospect before he hit the majors??

Similar Makeup but Altuve does not strike out very often. Travis would have to drop his K% down likely 9% to get into Altuves league.

Do you guys get MLB Network through your cable provider? I haven't been able to find a solid stream for it on Kodi

I can't believe Altuve is statistically a negative base runner...

I feel like there was a fangraphs article indicating that he ran into a lot of outs trying to stretch hits or take an extra base from 1st to 3rd.

The fact that he's even mentioned in the same sentence as Altuve is impressive for Travis. What a steal!

As a fall back career in which he'll be needing, we know that Gose will be the fastest pizza delivery guy out there!

Maybe Gose should be the reverse Tebow and try football.

Also, Brad Ausmus should be fired:

http://www.blessyouboys.com/2016/3/14/11218648/detroit-tigers-spring-training-brad-ausmus-anthony-gose-bunting-is-the-devil-bobby

For center fielder Anthony Gose, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus has another mandate: to bunt in every single game until the season starts.

"With his speed, it can be a weapon," Ausmus said. "Especially against left-handed pitchers."

Oh boy.

Over his three seasons in the majors, Gose is a .202/.256/.269 hitter against left-handed pitching. The correct answer to the question "What should Anthony Gose do against left-handed pitchers?" is to chew gum on the bench while someone else hits. There's a clear and obvious reason why he is regarded as a platoon player. Ausmus should do everything in his power to keep Gose away from left-handed pitchers during the regular season.

Travis has put up superstar/franchise cornerstone numbers in his career so far, 4.7 WAR in just 120 games. Obviously the projections don't expect him to keep this up(offensively and defensively) but the hype compared to what he's done so far is completely deserved, if anything he's very underhyped.

I said their face looked kind of similar as well, last week when the Jays were in Houston! Plus, both should be MVP candidates!

One of them certainly should...

(the other one isn't even the best player on his team though)
