gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I'm sticking my nose in an argument where it doesn't belong, but how is comparing the WAR of Goins and Lind exactly fair? Goins has the inherent advantage of being able to field as well as bat. That is Lind's own fault for being such a terrible fielder that he became a 30 yo DH...but still, this isn't the greatest of arguments to be name-calling over multiple posts in a thread that should be dedicated to AA's strange behaviour and panicking over the disaster 2015 is turning into less than a week after the 2014 World Series ended. So are you saying Goins brings more value as a starter versus Lind? If I would remotely come close to saying that during the course of the year, the pitchforks would be out in full force. It's funny because Spanky would be leading the charge, yet he thanks your post.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Sounds like something we need...oh wait!! You live in fantasy land.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Who cares if I thanked his post? I was agreeing for the most part, not the bolded of what you think. Our bets on, stop f***ing crying. You're so dumb it's entertaining.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 If the Jays have to eat half of Reyes salary, which is what it would take, than its a bad deal. Suppose that the Jays do make a deal and save $11M, would you take a SS of Reyes caliber for $11M. Of course Thus trading Reyes should not be looked at. Trading Burly however is another matter and needs to be executed as soon as possible. My point was that Reyes can be traded. I honestly don't believe the Jays would have to eat that much money. 3/55-60 for Reyes might be appealing to whichever team loses out in the Hanley bidding war. I don't see the Jays moving Reyes anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I live in Fantasyland? You're the guy who wants to make a bet that Ryan"f***IN" Goins is going to start 96 games, lol. *sighs* Wait Wait Wait......Start 96 games witch which team?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Toronto. f*** that then lol
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 You're so dumb it's entertaining. While I disagree with your opinion on Ryan Goins starting 96 games, I agree and find it shocking that he has gotten so much acknowledgement for his baseball knowledge over the years when most of his posts are of him running his mouth, or flooding the GameDay threads with "CLAP CLAP CLAPs!"
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Toronto's his best bet to play that many, lol. I was thinking Buffalo
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 With the money floating around out there, particularly in California, there's team that would pick up Reyes' contact without hesitation. Even with injuries/slumps, the guy has averaged 2.7 war for us. And much more the two previous seasons. There just aren't that many shortstops capable of that. s***, look at how the Dodgers bailed out the Red Sox by picking up Crawford and Beckett, and actually giving them prospects for the privilege of doing so.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 At least I'm liked, you f***ing bitch! this

You're the guy who wants to make a bet that Ryan"f***IN" Goins is going to start 96 games, lol. *sighs* Are you seriously regarded? Where did I say I want to bet Goins starts 96 games next year? I said IF he starts 96 games like Lind did, he would put up the same, if not a higher WAR than Lind did. Seriously, why do you keep spinning this into something different? Find my quote where I said Goins will start 96 games next year.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 At least I'm liked, you f***ing bitch! You're the laughing stock of the board. The tweens who laugh with you are actually laughing at you. "At least I'm liked", yeah like a retarded uncle.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 The more games Goins plays, the less WAR he will have. The more games Goins plays, the more WARS the Jays' fan base will have.

Dude...no...I did not say that. Geez no wonder you get into these arguments. A GENERIC 2B will have more opportunities to capture WAR during the course of a season than a GENERIC DH purely because he's on the field. David Ortiz out-OPS'd Jonathan Lucroy in 2014 but his WAR is less than half. Comparing Goins and Lind in WAR is like comparing them in a 100 meter dash, and Goins has a 50 meter head start. It's a pointless argument.

Also, don't get so offended with the likes thing. You see Spanky's thanked total? He gives them away if you sneeze and he finds it funny. Not that I don't appreciate the gesture, half of my thanked count is probably from him.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Lind on MLB radio with Duquette and Farron. Before going on Duquette really beat up the trade. Said this was AA paying Melvin back for stealing Lawrie. Lind on finding out . Thought AA was calling him about exercising his option ,instead told him he was traded to the Brewers and That was the end of the call. Said he thought he was a key cog in the lineup and was surprised. Said he knows no one on the Brewers. Did not sound happy. On hitting coaches. Stated Cito, Murphy, and Mottola taught him lots. On talking hitting with other players he only talked to Rasmus. Rasmus is not who you should talk hitting with

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Same point, meat? I know about the WAR? I asked you to put your big boy pants on and do that deal as well, but your balls stayed up, nice and comfy, Sally. I asked you to bet on RAD again, nothing. f*** off now, it's been a slice. No offense bro, but you're a bit off. Now go f*** off and get your Leaf jersey on and get yourself prepared.

Just for the record, you started this whole thing by spazzing out when i voiced my opinion regarding Lind's power being sapped by his back getting worse and then called him a singles hitter. How do you respond to my opinion? GOINZZZZZZ !! Up until that point, the name Ryan Goins was never mentioned. GFY..
