Red Bull increases concentration. In a baseball game. In a house. In a mouse. On a train. In the rain. In a boat. In a goat.

Red Bull does not increase concentration. It increases alertfulness and wakefulness. Theya re not the same thing. Chug a RE Bull and tell me how well you concentrate.

It gives me the shits...I have to concentrate on getting to the can.

Prove you wrong about what? You're not saying anything.

Why would I bother?

Either way in your mind you're right. I suggest you educate yourself instead of relying on other people.

Medical science and research disagrees with you. So do I. Red Bull is (mostly) caffeine. Caffeine increases concentration.

It really doesn't but that's okay.

Again, that disagrees with every source on the matter.

Apparently, you know more than everyone else in the world on the subject. And you know so much, that you can't even explain what you know.

Again it really doesn't. And again that's okay.

Bring up education with Moogy

Brilliant idea

Again, scientific and medical journals and studies support me.

What supports you?

You sound like someone who literally knows nothing about the subject matter, who once chugged a Red Bull, became over-caffeinated as a result, and then said "Red Bull doesn't help you concentrate."

It's pure silliness.

Again do your own research. Do I look like a monkey to you. Start by reading the ones you linked and figuring out why you are a moron.

Sort of related, but whilst in law school, one of my roommates was a post-doc in toxicology. He actually got me hooked on coffee (in large part for the increase ability to concentrate while studying). Apparently, he didn't know nuffin, neither. He also told me that toxicology post-docs were some of the biggest cokeheads you'd ever meet, which is a bit disconcerting. But reading through his reference materials after getting loaded was always a fun time.

Moogy livin' the life.

Already did research. They all support my position. No one supports yours.

If you've done the research you would know that taking caffeine before a game isn't going to help your concentration levels. But you haven't done the research.

Posted
All taht researching sure. You;re the one furiously Googling b/c it's still clear you don't know what you are talking about.

In all fairness you've posted like a dozen times how much research there is in your favor and we've seen precisely none of it.

Yes, but if you read all the stuff that speaks directly against him, it supports him.

And, stuff.

Tell me again about Red Bulling it before a game and how this is some how going to increase your concentration levels for an extended period of time. Everyone knows that caffeine provides a temporary boost for concentration. It does not provide a lasting boost to concentration. If you consume more as you suggest you will likely be overdosing, and you've already admitted overdosing is bad for concentration. Not to mention the dehydration effects on concentration. Having to pee or s*** if you're thehurla nd the tolls it will take on concentration. So again go do your own research, something that actually proves your point and get back to me.

I'm not going to waste my time digging up evidence for someone who is on here to fight. If he was interested in an actual conversation I'd probably be kind enough but I'm going to use the fact that Moogy has to be right all the time and can't let things go to try and help him help himself.

Then post it for me. I dunno, I wouldn't mind reading up on this stuff.

Still at work. I'll send you something this weekend if you'd like.

Basically what it comes down to is you can't take caffeine for an extended period of time without OD'ing or experiencing the effects of withdrawal. When you start withdrawal caffeine brings you just past normal levels but you quickly drop below them again. When you OD you get all jittery and can't concentrate. Which is why Red Bulling it is a terrible idea unless you don't need to concentrate.

He may have been taking it under medical exemption during his big year last year but decided he wanted to play clean this year. When he was playing so bad this year without it, decided to take it again late in the year without getting an exemption for it and got busted.

It's a blow to the team but not significant. He's s*** this year.

He isn't 2013 but he is still a bona fide deep threat who can hit any pitch out of the park and any line up would miss him badly.

My questions...

How was he on the exemption last year but not this year?

Did he/his agent/the Orioles forget to do the paperwork or is it just that he doesn't really need it to begin with?

If he's been so bad this year and hypothetically he wasn't taking it earlier in the year, and their med staff knew that he had taken it in the past, were there no conversations between the team, the medical staff and Davis to try and figure out if no longer taking Adderal was part of the problem and if yes, why didnt they then go through the procedure to try and get a medical exemption?

Was the team and Davis just completely not aware he was no longer on the exemption list?

So many questions that just don't really make sense.

He was busted for Adderall, not steroids....

in that case.. someone should change the thread title?

The answer, in one snippet, for the TLDR folks:

He has hit 45% fewer fly balls in 2014 compared to 2013 (when he had a ridiculously high flyball rate combioned with a ridiculously low popup rate)

Basically, he was hitting his popups out of the park last year and now he's popping out like a normal person.

Exactly

How many times did we say last year "look at that thing carry!"
