jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Major blow to any hopes of the O's getting past the ALDS. Detroit, KC and Cleveland just saw their hopes of getting to the ALCS increase significantly. It also increases the Yankees and Jays playoff chances, as well.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Thanks Ang. amphetamines are a lot different than steroids, but you have to be smarter than this.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Ummmmm..... Thats interesting to say the least.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 The Orioles should be penalized and the 2nd place team should become the AL East leader. Only fair.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 53 homeruns in 2013,
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 25 Games without pay The play-offs just got a lot more interesting
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I feel kinda bad for him since the media and fans will make too big of a deal about this. Amphetamines are rightfully not allowed, but they're not steroids.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 And so it begins... In other news, you're ignorant (not you North, that guy)

It's a blow to the team but not significant. He's s*** this year.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 ahahahaha, f*** the O's and their fans.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 lol lol lol that is all Hope it rattles the O's and they lose all remaining games in embarrassing fashion.

In other news, you're ignorant (not you North, that guy) Let's not totally clear North of ignorance too though. Totally agree this will get blown out of proportion and is nothing. O's just probably became a better playoff bet though.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I can't help but think he thought Adderall would help him focus and "be a better hitter"
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 He will appeal and get to play out this season I assume? If so that sux for us
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I guess not He has accepted it
walkoff93 Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Apparently MLB gave him an excemption to use Adderall, in the past (last year), for mental health issues. This year they took the excemption away and it looks like he started using it again. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24706357/chris-davis-suspended-25-games-for-positive-amphetamine-test Davis has released the following statement: "I apologize to my teammates, coaches, the Orioles organization and especially the fans. I made a mistake by taking Adderall. I had permission to use it in the past, but do not have a therapeutic use exemption (TUE) this year. I accept my punishment and will begin serving my suspension immediately."
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 First off, I don't care if I think something should or shouldn't be allowed ... If it's not allowed, and you do it, you should be punished and chastised. And in some ways, amphetamines are worse than roids, because they provide an immediate and direct benefit in the form of energy and focus. But, in another way, you can get similar (sort of) effects by Red Bulling it. But, whatever, f*** him for breaking the rules. You can get around the rules w/ exceptions. Red bull actually decreases concentration but it is a stimulant. Edit: What I meant to say is banning stimulants is silly. You can't keep them out of the game and you should really be focusing on player health.

Very surprised MLB took the exemption away.

DrSunshine Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 "It was tough. Put a little damper on the Ravens game, that's for sure," Showalter said. "You've got to learn to deal with the problems and the challenges along the way and if they're self-inflicted there's no woe-is-me...." That put a damper on the Ravens game???
