jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Negative!! Detroit and KC are tied for their division lead... one will take over the division and the loser will be tied with Mariners until they win or lose. Thanks! Good news!
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I just understood why everyone was calling out Wil Myers, geez, that was terrible. He sucks lol. I think he becomes a worse version of Rasmus.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Actually, if you include the expected loss in the aborted CLE/KC game to be completed later in September, Detroit leads the division, not KC. But with a win, KC will lead.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 So what's the best we could be tonight? 3.5 back? 3.5 back looks like it might be possible...early 3 to 0 lead. I wasn't that hopeful with iwakuma starting, but they got to him. Seattle faces the A's in the next 3 and then have a 4 game series against the angels. We just need KC and or Detroit to collapse somehow.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 4.. It's a good time if you think about it. They're still long shots but you can relax and enjoy the game without anything completely meaningless to watch. Just enjoy and see if the Jays get hot an make it interesting next week. If not, life goes on.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Wow Hutch generated 18/93 swinging strikes tonight. The Cubs are terrible.

kgm1 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 God I wish we had a team like the Cubs or texas in our division this year. That is a bad team. Won't be like that in 3 years but it sucks right now
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 3-2 in the Seattle game.

Won't be like that in 3 years but it sucks right now We also didn't see the cubs with Rizzo, Castro or Samardizja when he was still there. Almost all the really bad teams have shut guys down for the rest of the season.

We desperately need one in each division to take charge

We desperately need one in each division to take charge Seattle has a BRUTAL schedule to close out the year. 7 vs the Angels, 3 against the A's, 4 against us, and a breather vs the Astros. KC has a nice schedule, but do play 3 vs Detroit. Same with Detroit. They're the two I'm most concerned about, but at least the games they play against each other should help. We also have a brutal schedule though. 6 vs Baltimore, 4 vs Yankees, 4 vs Seattle, and 3 vs TB (which we shouldn't take too lightly either).

Id bet that Felix will be pitching in one of those games and Iwakurma probably will too.

Unless they pitch really well, they won't win. Plus, they have a losing record vs. Cleveland as well. And their 4 game set vs. Boston won't be a cake walk, as they got swept at Fenway earlier this season, and that was against two of the starters they'll face this weekend (Buchholz, De La Rosa). And this team may make Kelly and Webster look like Cy Young candidates, because they don't walk... at all (last in AL in walks)

Plus, we have Bautista, Lind and EE all back (even minus Cabrera), unlike last time, plus it's at home, instead of that pitcher's park in Seattle.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 This team is going to win a few more games to get everyone excited, and then lose the rest of the way to let us down one last time Its the Blue Ja.. No, sorry, its the Toronto way!
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Its the Blue Ja.. No, sorry, its the Toronto way! i got tix for the bal and sea series, so I'll be happy if they have a decent shot going into the last 7. Skydome will be a rocking.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Honestly, how have the Cubs won 64 games this year? Good God...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Aren't they kinda sorta missing two of their best players?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 This team is going to win a few more games to get everyone excited, and then lose the rest of the way to let us down one last time In all likelihood they ride high for another week or so and get bounced by Baltimore. But the home games will be awesome if they're within 2-3 games by that point.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 The rotation and offense have both been bananas over the last two weeks. We have a real shot here... We get Nate Karns and Hellickson in the first two games against Tampa. Those are very winnable games. Archer has also struggled lately too.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Aren't they kinda sorta missing two of their best players? Yes Rizzo especially is their only real established bat We didn't see them at their best. Which is still a 90+ loss team even with everybody.
