LOL! Just no. It is common knowledge that Toronto is a keep-to-yourself culture (not friendly). Least friendly city I've ever visited and I've been to 50+ major cities.

Cheers for telling me bout my own experiences. That's pretty cool.

Well places like Florida have the climate for beaches all year round lol. I'm sure Toronto with a summer climate 12 months of the year would be a lot better. Plus, Florida isn't as great as it seems to be. You have hurricane season every late summer/fall and its not like all parts of Florida are thriving. Places in Tampa, Orlando, heck even Miami are shitholes and dives. There are parts in the U.S. I wouldn't dare live in.

As for Atlanta, I flew into the city a lot since flying Delta, that's a major hub for them. There is not much to do in Atlanta, trust me. I have a feeling its like Cincy but on a larger scale.

Well your Climate plays into why a place is desired place for a player to live in or play. All that plays into why players wouldn't want to play and or live in Toronto as a free agent. Or even just as a big time professional athlete.

Having lived in Toronto for those few years, Toronto was pretty boring for a city of it's size. Very conservative city, just didn't have anything special about it. And if you like anything besides Hockey then good luck, lol. Hockey on your T.V. stations 24/7. Trying to find a NCAA football or basketball games, NBA games, not happening unless you pay extra for something you can get in the U.S. with a normal cable or satellite package. No ESPN or nothing and that crap was annoying.

Give me Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Vegas, New York, L.A, San Diego, Phoenix, D.C, over Toronto any day. Even cities that are perceived to be bad as far as crime are still nice cities that Athletes like to live in. Detroit, Baltimore are still major cities in the U.S. Detroit has some nice places in the suburbs of it, rich luxurious areas.

I don't know what cable provider you had where you didn't get NBA games, TSN (basically a more hockey centered version of ESPN) alone plays a bunch of non-Raptors games throughout the season + the playoffs, and that's one of the main sports channels.

Uhhh you do know that the U.S. has the most millionaires and billionaires in the world right? lol. Those millionaires and billionaires wouldn't move from the U.S. to go to Canada if you doubled their networth tomorrow. haha. Toronto is a decent city, I actually lived there a few years because my ex is from there. So I know first hand how it is there. It's cold as hell there most of the year, and people there don't have much personality so it makes the city pretty boring. The U.S. is so deep with great cities that's it's not even fair to compare man. And then you can live in any climate you want. Great beaches all over Florida, up to Virginia Beach across over to California. And when I saw you put Atlanta on your little list, I know you are way off. Atlanta is a beautiful city, with great weather hosted the Summer Olympics, the Super Bowl. I could go on and on about Atlanta as it's one of my favorite cities.

Honestly though man, if guys had the option to play in a U.S. city or a Canadian city they are going to choose the U.S. city 9 times out of 10. The U.S. is just where everything is. Lots of options and great cities to live in. If your a rich athlete why would you want to live in a cold city like Toronto? If they are going to live in a cold city up north in the U.S. New York is a cool place to be if you have to be in a cold place. That's just how it is man, nobody wants to live in Canada. Not when you have the option of living in the U.S. I lived up there a few years, I don't wanna go back up there to live. Visit yeah, but to live? No

I like living in a country where we don't have to be legitimately afraid of our black people. Some fat spoiled brat gets shot for acting like a tough guy and a cop put him in his place and a whole state has to be put under curfew. No one can say with a straight face that the US doesn't have some f***ed up problems well beyond anything Canada has to deal with.

Canada/USA Debate is like a my Dad can beat up your Dad debate.

It's immature. Google top 10 cities or top 10 countries to live in if you want to know who's the better country/city. ;)

Toronto ranked 4th

I'm not shocked to see Melbourne at the top - its a fantastic city, easy to get around, great transit, great night life, clean, great climate, and is one of the sports capitals of the world. Sydney and Auckland were beautiful as well.

I think Forbes has Toronto ranked 4th also. IIRC.

Pretty irrelevant since they didn't poll MLB FA which I thought was the issue being discussed, but I may still be half asleep.

Dude I had that crappy Rogers ya'll have up there. I remember being up there for that 1st year, and it was a big college football game on. And I was looking for it on your TSN or whatever, and instead they showed the "Curling World Championships" haha!!! That's when I knew I was screwed as a sports fan. And I don't like Hockey, so it was a difficult adjustment.

And then no ESPN, was a killer. It def was an eye opening experience. That TSN channel sucks...

You probably had a s***** cable package.

I basically get every NBA, MLB, NFL, CBB, CFB game.

Sounds like the dream package. I have like 998 channels and I still don't get all of that.

SuperSports pack my friend.

It's only like an extra 35 bucks a month. ( lot's of games in HD too) If your a big fan of MLB and NFL it's worth every penny. If you just like MLB then it's probably best just to pay for mlb.tv.

Even if you have normal cable though....sportsnet shows tons of out of market baseball, football, basketball and college sports ect. So i don't really know wtf he's talking about.

35 bucks is a lot of money to add to my tv bill per month. Perhaps if I stopped drinking coffee I could afford that.

Fair. I'm 27 with no kids or dependents so it's easy for me. Plus, i don't drink coffee.

Butting into the discussion here. How much do you pay per month, where do you live and what provider do you have? I ask 'cause I'm looking to ditch Videotron here in MTL, but don't see many choices if any. And I don't plan on going over to Bell, had a bad experience with them already.

Pretty much all cable tv or satellite in Canada is a ripoff for the programming you get.

I'm with shaw Direct satellite in Lethbridge alberta. Like 1 step up from the basic package and it's over 100 per month. 2 years ago the top end package was the same As I am payng now for the second worst package. And every 2-3 months it goes up by another 2-3 per month. It's ridiculous.

Yeah I just MLBTV since you could watch archived games, and I didn't like how a lot of the late east coast games overlapped the starts of the 10 PM west coast games on the HD channels.

As for NBA, NHL etc, I'm satisfied with the coverage games get on NBC, CBC, Sportsnet and TSN which is more than enough for me. As for NFL, I'm going to start and get into more this year (cheering for the Panthers and Browns) so if I want, I'll just get the NFL TV package they have online and stream them on my PS4.

Yeah $35 was a ripoff. I was just using it for baseball before and then I hardly used it in the winter. I don't follow hockey, basketball or football as much as I do baseball so it didn't make sense. MLB TV is where its at!
