Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Goddammit. That was a great pick. That's something Lind has always been excellent at. Too bad his range / back aren't better.

IBTrini Verified Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 That's true, although you could argue as well that a bunt in that situation yesterday, with two strikes and a batter that rarely bunts, wasn't a smart move. The result simply made it look good. He just doesn't look right atm mentally. I'd rather see him clear his head for a few days and be closer to normal through September than have the brain cramps continue. I read somewhere that Rasmus was hitless in his 10 previous at-bats against Peralta so it was a ballsy decision on his part. Against another pitcher who he had good numbers against I am sure he would not have chosen that particle strategy. Anyway, if the play was not successful he would have been raked over the coals for making it and strangely he is being raked for a different outcome. Seems like nothing he could have done would have the approval of the fans unless it was a HR. Now that would have gotten at least 90% support but remember, he has not been successful against Peralta so that would hardly been the result. Luckily it worked out positively for a Jays win and right now, I am taking all the wins they can produce.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Rasmus has a reputation of spending hours and hours in the batting cage when his teammates are going out for dinner and drinks when he's not playing well to the point where the coaches/management have to tell him to relax. I don't see how benching him for a couple games would be a) productive for the team and productive for Colby. Good thing I didn't make that suggestion, eh?
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Talking about fatigue and Navarro shows he's not with that liner.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 I thought Kiermaier had a shot at that.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 And Rasmus goes down swinging. Ugh
