Man we need an arm like Krod to go on the backend. Assuming Norris starts we can do a lot worse then Estrada Redmond Delabar Loup Cecil Sanchez Krod
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Man this team so we have 112 on the books two players in arb that might cost us say 8 mill most! Was told payroll was going up! But in jays voodo math land we only have 5-6 mil left, who failed math this bad to believe this ********! We was Robbed, robbed I tell Ya! Smoke another cigar you lieing f***ing bastard(s)! It's like f***ing a hot chick and never being able to cum and drop a load across her face! Wtf
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Oh okay thanks. I looked through his appearances last year and it seemed that when they pulled him from the rotation he did a lot better. I'd like to at least believe we got something, anything of value in that Halladay trade. I guess Gose = Travis. As a reliever.... AAA: 3.16 ERA, 31.1 IP, 34 H, 9 BB, 22 K, 1 HR MLB: 0.00 ERA, 3.0 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K, 0 HR (1.80 FIP) Give him a chance. He is out of options and has four years of control left. A lot of failed starters improve their command and become solid relievers out of the bullpen. It's not like the Jays don't have the openings to give him a look. I still have hope. He's done as a starter, though. One inning reliever, max.

How does the salary equate, unless they've built in currency exchange or trade deadline cushion

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 So after a January where AA failed to add depth we move on to February
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I guess what bugs me is why we always seem to stop just short of Greatness!
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 So after a January where AA failed to add depth we move on to February So after a January in which you failed to make a single useful post, we move to February, hoping that there may yet be a redeemable quality buried deep within the confines of your dark, hollow soul.

SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I wish the Wishin' Boot would bring us James Shields and a couple of relievers... #snl #reference

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Man less than 3 weeks before pitchers and catchers report and still some holes... hope this month is better than last.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 If you assume Travis is ready and is the 2.1 WAR guy that he projects to be, then there are no holes on the team. Cecil and Loup alone make the bullpen league average, even if everyone else is replacement. Hard to be counting on him since he hasn't even played above AA. Tons of risk with Travis and Pompey with no depth behind them. Boegarts and JBJ were projected to be much better players than Travis and Pompey and they didn't perform well.

Outfield maybe, 2nd lots of depth just none of it screams " Superstar" lol
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 AA is sacrificing depth and throwing away what could have been an dream off season Can't wait till May when Redmond is closing games and Kawasaki is our everyday 2B

Cecil and Loup alone make the bullpen league average, even if everyone else is replacement. I dont think the bullpen is that solid: Cecil is probably going to be the closer but is untested as a closer. No way he and Loup can pitch every game. I dont have a lot of faith in Hutch and Estrada. And what if Dickey starts like he did at the beginning of last season? And can we assume that Buehrle is going to start out like he did last year before his stats normalized? Sanchize could be great... or he could struggle as a starter. Stroman is the only one I have faith in, although I think he is injury prone. We simply dont have the BP depth at this point or SP depending on which way you look at it. Projected WAR aside, it is only going to take an injury or two (or broken fingernail) before things get f***ed up. Im not going to assume anything at 2B. Travis could be another Goins and Goins could be Goins 2013. Izturis is coming off knee surgery and hasnt been good since 2011. Then there is Kawasaki and Tolleson. The Santiago acquisition just shows how desperate things are. At this point, all I see are lower-tier replacement level players. Im not as skeptical about the OF as some are. Lets just hope Saunders stays healthy and Pompey lives up to the hype.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I think Sanchez will be in the pen and Estrada will be the 5th starter. AA clearly has no money left to spend, and that's the most effective way to use the roster he has created. Sanchez as a starter, unless it's in AAA, will be a bust, and I think AA knows that.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I dont have a lot of faith in Hutch Based on? Stroman is the only one I have faith in, although I think he is injury prone. Based on? Travis could be another Goins Based on?

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Based on? Based on? Based on? Hutch was hit and miss last year, its the <5 IP starts that im worried about taxing the bullpen. Im not a fan of Stroman's mechanics with his height, I think tommy john is inevitable. You got me on Travis being like Goins... kinda worst case scenario with an untested rookie.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Stroman's mechanics are some of the best in the game. Why do you think he can throw so well for his height? Excellent mechanics. It's weird and super rare that a 5'8" guy can have clean mechanics + throw with plus velocity as a SP. He's a unicorn!
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Heard an interesting stat today. No free agent has signed for more than $50M after February 1st. Could Shields be looking at 3 years now?

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I could see him getting something barely better than the Garza contract. Maybe 4/60 If he's getting a contract in that range, we had better be asking Rogers for some extra payroll space.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Will replace Dickey beautifully after next year with that type of contract
