Gross. Caught trying to reply as another account but forgot to logout. LOL. But we already knew he was the Dog, and therefore the number of accounts he has is anywhere between 10 and infinite... nothing new here.

As I've said before responding to someone you think is a troll from the other board, is grounds for a board timeout. If you think someone is a troll do not reply. There are no current duplicate accounts from any other point in this boards history.

If Sanchez does stay in the pen, who's the #5? If it's Marco Estrada...is it the right move? Do we really want him pitching more innings than Sanchez? Is it Daniel Norris? Is everyone confident that he's ready? Am I missing anybody?

 

Norris as #5 starter and Sanchez in AAA (starting) would be the best option, internally. At least then you'd be going with the guy who has a performance track record as a starter, rather than taking a monumental gamble with Sanchez.

 

The depth at #5 starter is most likely (in order): Sanchez/Norris (#5 starter), Estrada, Hendriks, Francis, and Oramas.

I would rather be patient and wait for waiver claims likely to come after spring training rather then have him pull a "Dickey" trade at this point and get ripped off to fill a hole that will provide only 1-2 WAR value.

- Offer Axford 2yr/$5M deal, even if he pitches similar to last year he is an upgrade on Rasmussen, or Jenkins IMO - He is still over 10K/9IP.

- Offer Carlos Villenueva a $2yr/$10M deal

 

SP - Stroman, Buehrle, Hutchison, Dickey, Sanchez/Estrada

BP - Cecil, Loup, Estrada/Sanchez, Norris, Villenueva, Axford, Hendiks, Redmond, Jenkins.

WILD CARDS - Delabar, Romero, Drabek

 

Obviously I would prefer they offer Shields a backloaded 5yr deal, and move two of Norris/Sanchez/Estrada into the pen, but I am not holding my breath...

this + Chris Martin is a good idea but I would probably offer Axford a one year deal with a higher AAV

That's pretty wishful thinking. There's no way you can know that for sure, and it's much more likely there are duplicate accounts that the admin tools are unable to detect. Just because there are no duplicate accounts created or being used with the same IP doesn't mean they don't exist.

Our admin is very aware of this thanks for your input. This particular troll, despite their ethnic background, has not shown in the past that they bother trying to hide things. My main point is that people accusing people of being the "troll from the other board" is as annoying as having trolls. If you think someone is a troll of any kind do not reply or do what many do...reply with an intelligent post about baseball. That usually works.

I actually don't mind the thought of getting Villanueva back. Not that we need more long men, but his FIP was significantly lower than his ERA last year. Might come at a reasonable price, good K/BB ratio. He isn't the big power arms I'd hope we could fill the pen with, but he's proven to be reliable.

 

Not sure I'd give Axford a 2 year deal. His control and effectiveness has been MIA for awhile now.

 

Finally - I highly doubt we're sticking Norris in the pen. He should given a slight opportunity to be our 5th starter, but more likely will be sent back to AAA until he forces his way into the rotation (or injuries).
