Chappy Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Reimold, Thole, Valencia/Fracisco (platoon), Kawasaki/Goins
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Right or wrong I think Thole, Valencia, Reimold, and Francisco are locks. With the way Goins is playing I would like him up (no qualms if someone would rather have Kawasaki) and if it were up to me I'd consider expanding the bench to 5 and keeping Gose up as well. If Goins continues to hit the Lawrie 2B/3B platoon could be as follows: vs. RHP: 3B: Lawrie 2B: Goins Bench: Francisco, Valencia vs. LHP: 3B: Valencia 2B: Lawrie Bench: Francisco, Goins The other way to do it is to just have Francisco and Valencia straight platoon at 3B with Lawrie at 2B.

Has anyone checked their record with and without Kawasaki over the last 2 seasons? Crazy Japanese always seems to make a difference in every game he's in. But .370 BABIP is not sustainable (even for a Suzuki type hitter).
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Man... this is a good problem to have and I don't yet have a preference of what the best outcome should be.

I was looking at your Twitter: How does a guy who mostly only retweets sports and make the occasional fluffy sports tweet have so many babes following him (makes no sense)?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Honestly if everyone is healthy in mid August they should just tell Francisco/Tolleson or Kawasaki to fake a hamstring injury. Go on the DL for 15 games and then you come back up in September. It is good for the org. (keep the player without waivers) and the player as they get to keep making the MLB salary. There is a part of me that thinks this scenario happened with Dan Johnson. Late in the game on his last AB he comes up limping and just happens to "pull a hammy"
