burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Sid on PTS going off on Rogers and the twitter account for tweeting about a fan giveaway at 4:01 pm. I like hearing him go after his bosses.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 AA uses Rogers as his cell provider, probably didn't have service for half the day.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Cosart traded, we won't face him tonight
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I agree, my point was that this team as is, is likely good enough to make the playoffs in one way or another. No moves we made today would have sent us over Oakland or Detroit though so why give up the future when we can likely still make playoffs as is Maybe once we get in we'll get really lucky for once. I'd love a playoff berth and be satisfied. Anything more is a bonus but if/once we get in I'm going to want more haha
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 yankees got prado f*** f*** off Rogers.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Jared Cosart has been traded to the Marlins.

One other strong starter and we could take on the A's with Lawrie and EE back.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 @BNightengale The #Astros trade Cosart to the #Marlins.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 yankees got prado f*** f***in Yankees
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 yankees got prado f*** Goddammit. I wonder who is going the other way. I feel like any moves the Yankees made the Jays easily could have made too.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 The Blue Jays clubhouse feels like the balloon in this situation.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 The Wilner Apologist act is going to be in f***ing overdrive tonight, especially if the team doesn't win their sixth in a row.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Braves acquire Russell from Cubs..from a unknown source

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 EvanDrellich now Source: Marisnick one if players going to Astros. Hernandez, Cosart gone
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 We're not going to make a move. I'm not even that angry tbh. We're playing really well and we have three above average players due back quite soon. Would've been nice to add some pitching depth but it's not the end of the world. Over the last month + the rotation has stabilized with teh addition of Stroman, the pen is deeper with Sanchez in the mix and Cecil healthy, and the bench is vastly improved with Reimold and Valencia.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 f*** him and his f***ing smart ass statements He's not always wrong because most fans are stupid or nuts or both. His bias is still wince-inducing, though, especially when they're unsolicited.

It was kind of tough. We don't have any glaring needs, per se. I get we've got some issues but patching those wholes with platoons will work. So with that in mind we'd need to acquire someone pretty good and the Martin Prado's of the world aren't going to be worth it. As for pitching, a guy like Lackey could have been useful but the price tags were too high. Perhaps we'll see a waiver trade in August.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 We're playing good against s***** teams like the Sox. Let's see how we'll do against O's and Tigers now. At least we won't face the A's again.

I agree. I actually think every team in the AL East was a loser this year, with the yankees coming out on top. Jays and O's didnt do much and Boston and Tampa did not capitalize well at all on their talent

Agreed. If we acquired Valencia and Reimold today, would it be more relevant?
