jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Bet Gibbons isn't happy about Lind's broken toe. Paging Dan Johnson..
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 lol Gibbons raging in post-game interviews and deservedly so What did he say?
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 What did he say? "Stupid play in the first inning. We don't tell the guy to slide, lose by one run," Gibbons said in brutally honest fashion. "You have to be into the game, you have to pay attention, that's the way it goes. The guy has to be over there going, Get down!' "The [runner] doesn't see what's going on. Little things like that. We've lost a lot of one-run games, stupid stuff, not making a routine play or something stupid. That's cost us way too many times."

This team is playing stupid baseball left and right. Also, Reyes should of been hustling all the way and not lollygagging.
admin Site Manager Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Yeah someone should have been telling him down. But he shouldn't have been jogging. I want to know what was going through his head.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Lately, the hitters on this team have been pussies except for EE and Bautista (when he was healthy) The batting average of the team is below .100 with RISP on this West Coast trip. This just shows that when there are RISP, the hitters go with a "I'm scared to fail" mentality, as opposed to being aggressive and confident at the plate. They have been pussies, period. Even though they scored 7 runs today, they left more than 12 guys on base. They should have at least scored 10 runs.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 For what? Posting pictures? The other day some guy posted like 6 photos of Alex A. In that poster's defense it's tough to fit all of AA in one photo
HammerinHank Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Your Toronto Blue Jays are dimwitted lollygaggers. Congratulations!
shortstop Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 i'm pretty sure showalter would have these cast of characters playing the game the right way... don't get me wrong, I like gibby, but I like showalter more...not to say he'd be a fit with this cast of misfits but showalter would imo see to it the team is playing consistent "fundamental" baseball...
HammerinHank Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Manager can't make a stupid player smart, only GM can do that (by acquiring talented players that also use their brain). Gibbons is not to blame. Let's be honest, AA likes to acquire flawed players with "high ceilings".
shortstop Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 hammer, disagree only b/c a manager can change certain individual and team wide habits...sure showalter wouldn't be preaching or covering stuff a player should know ever since his little league days, but I sure wouldn't want to walk back to that dugout towards showalter if I were Cabrera (and perhaps Reyes for jogging)...

Disagree, manager can only do so much... again, can't make a stupid person smart.
