Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 New York Guy 1: "The Jays are calling again..." New York Guy 2: "Wait, that Canadian team? Haven't they got the hint yet?" New York Guy 1: "I know, most people that get trolled this consistently give up long before this..."
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Jesus. Nothing but incompetence in New York. Inexcusable. The evidence is in front of their eyes. Not incompetence, bias
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 This is frustrating. I'd like to hear an explanation on this one.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Sorry you've completely lost me but that's o.k. Kind of bored with the conversation anyways. Upon re-reading I guess what you're saying is something along the lines of absence of evidence does not equal evidence of absence. I really don't see why that would change the decision process in the slightest but if you want to split hairs that's fine.
DickeyJohnsonWang Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 they need to rethink their protocol. Or get more camera angles to make calls more conclusive.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Bautista pissed off the video review umps.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Bautista pissed off the video review umps. They can suck it up and do their f***ing jobs... Unless they were told in no uncertain terms by the umpires union "don't overturn too many calls, you can't have umpires looking bad!" That wouldn't shock me at all.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 This is frustrating. I'd like to hear an explanation on this one. Same, but I'm sure it would just be "it wasn't conclusive" and that would be the end of it.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 they need to rethink their protocol. Or get more camera angles to make calls more conclusive. They need to define what conclusive evidence means. Right now it seems that if it's a really close play they stick with the original call.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 They'll hedge this ******** with a work-in-progress excuses, which doesn't even remotely explain why black and white calls don't get made correctly.
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 This replay system is a complete joke. I also have a huge problem yet again with Reyes there. When you get up from third and are told to go home, you hustle. He was not running anywhere near full bore there and he turns around to look at where the ball is, the tries to turn up the speed. I see no hustle in this guy when he needs it. It's why I have a problem with his cockiness.....he doesn't hustle or play the game hard enough to earn that right. He plays it more like he takes it for granted. An arrogance that has no place on a team that wants to win. I literally can't stand him.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 This is insane... don't get me wrong brutal by Reyes for jogging in and not diving in hard but what... the.. f***.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Christ almighty. So frustrating to get ZERO runs that inning because of a s*** review call.
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Is that MLB history right there? I'd love to see Carson dig up on that one. 3 hits, 2 errors, but don't score a single run? Shopuld've scored at least 2 and still be at bat had reyes hustled on that play period.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 "If the Blue Jays don't make the playoffs, then the Yankees and "Jeter's final run" have a better chance. It's better for the game and the fans." Bud Selig..
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 What luck. The ball bounces right back to the fielder, the ump on the field makes the wrong call on a close play, and the review is totally botched. Any of those go the other way and we get multiple runs that inning.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Something fishy is going on in New York with regards to Jays reviews.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 STAY CALM. Stroman has got this one. No jinx intended.

If that were a player who hustles his ass off, like Kawasaki for instance, that's an automatic run. It was a bad review call, but it only went to review cos Reyes took it for granted and didn't run as he should. I mean why the f*** turn around to see where the ball is? Run your ass off, do your JOB and get to home plate as quickly as you can and it doesn't f***ing matter where the ball is.

admin Site Manager Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I could be way off-base here, but I don't know, I get this strange feeling of almost expecting the Jays to win everytime Stroman is out there. Is that just me? Never had that feeling about Buehrle, or Morrow, or Romero at any point. Come to think of it, I haven't had that feeling about a pitcher since Halladay. I'm not saying that I expect him to be that good this early on, but it's just a random instinctive feeling I get everytime I see him as the probable pitcher. It's probably just me. You mean the feeling we are supposed to have with Dickey?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 It's early, but Stroman looks locked in. Keeping the ball down and on the corners.

Yes, he should have hustled more, but I doubt it would have made a difference.

That might be a reaosn
