Beeston, Gibby or AA??

If you can fire one who do you fire? Explain why. You can only fire one but can move the remaining two. This opens up the logical option of firing Beeston and moving AA to President.

Which is my choice.

Fire Beeston. AA is president. Gibby is still manager get a new GM.

You don't have to move anyone around. For example if you want to just fire AA and hire a new GM keeping Beeston as president that is fine.

If you want to fire Gibbons and replace him with Beeston and get a new President that is an option too (that would be wildly entertaining, Beeston having to do the managers show each night).

You can't just move AA to an executive role while finding a new GM. The Raptors tried that for like a week with Colangelo before they realized how silly it was.

Cut the head off the snake and the rest will follow. Fire the Beest.

Where's option #4? Seitzer? That guy is unusually unspoken of when the Jays are not hitting. But remember when we were destroying everyone in May and they kept panning the camera to him, as if he was some God?

Well we struggled in June and now we're struggling in July. Don't give me the injury BS.

I agree with you. But it is hard to see them "firing" Beeston. It will be like when Gaston "retired". A long drawn out process where Beeston gets to save face and leave his minions there for a while (as Murph got to hang around for 3 more years).

... they are still 3rd in runs... and they've gone through a 3 hitting coaches the last 3 years. It gets to the point where they get tired of firing coaches and need a bigger sacrifice.

They are 3rd in runs because they built such a huge lead in that category during May.

I don't have the stats now but I remember seeing we had something like a -30 run differential during our huge slump.

It's so hard to say...get rid of AA and keep Beeston and he's going to hire one of the idiot former GM's who are in AA's ear anyway. Fire Beeston and not AA we are still not going to get well thought out value moves and have to go through more waiver wire moves and home run trade attempts. I voted AA because I figure Beeston's liver only has a couple more years of functioning anyway.

I think you have to fire The Beest. I just don't think he understands the current game anymore (if he understood it at all) and is still resting off the laurels of the 92/93 teams.

The only logical course of action for this organization is to have the Assistant to the Travelling Secretary drag those trophies through the parking lot and demand, with a megaphone, that The Beest gets fired.

Beeston and Anthopoulos. This team is going nowhere until both have been replaced. I really hate the idea of promoting AA to president. Promotion without merit grinds my gears.

That's a good point. Nature may take care of Beeston soon enough anyway.

Although Selig somehow is still an mlb executive (top dog executive) at 80 or so... The thought of an 80 somthing year old Beeston in charge of the team in 2030 is frightening.

Agreed. I just don't know how they can market it. Beeston retires... then they fire AA?? Beeston retires. They hire a new President and make him hold on to AA for a year?? (Kind of like they made JP do with Buck).

Beeston. How soon People forget how bleak the minor league talent was before AA got the job . I'm of the belief rogers and the Beest engineered the gutting of the system. Fortunately AA has rebuilt it.

I'm impressed that people aren't picking Gibbons, that would of been the dumbest.

Yeah... that is nice to see. When a company is having long term problems there comes a time when they have to look at the top.. not take it out on a mid level manager.

In fact I would have no problem if they kept Gibbons for years. Just a "hey, it's not your fault, we'll build a young team, and give you a chance with it".

answer is the beest since he's been around the longest and limited to no results the past 20+ years...he's been the only constant...

the rest flows from the change at the top...

of course, we're leaving aside Rogers b/c they ain't going anywhere anytime soon...

last 30 days Jays 9-19, Rays 17-12 (17 and 8 in the last 25)...uh oh! Anyone remember last July?

Date the Rays pass the Jays??? I'll say August 24th.

Yeah. f*** corporate ownership. If only we could get a owner like Mark Cuban.

Agreed. Rogers isn't so bad it's just that corporate ownership in general will always lead to problems.
