If there are meaningful games in September, fans like yourself can go f*** yourselves, you don't deserve to watch them. Better yet, when the meaningful games in September do roll around, go post your s*** on some fairweather band wagoner site. Pathetic f***ing people.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 The end is near. #ReverseJinx 2014 Jays remind me of 2003 Expos. There is good and there is evil. That year evil won. There were ups and downs like crazy. One moment it looked like they were world beaters (after game 50, 32-18, then a slump, then a crazy win streak, 39-26 around this time)... Then HUGE slump. Crash to .500. Doom. the end. Then some winning... This game was crazy. The series with the Phillies was crazy. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MON/MON200308260.shtml At that moment in time the Montreal Expos were tied for the wild card. And they were going to win it. To show the world the difference between good and evil. To teach Wall Street a lesson. To end the Iraq war. To make sure Bush didn't get a second term. Most of all they were going to defeat Jeffrey Loria and Bud Selig and save the franchise and show the world there was still good in humanity. But Wall Street and Bush and Loria and the powerful Bilderberg group couldn't afford to let the good people win one at that time. Thus a weekend in Florida put a stop to the dream. The lesson. Baseball is designed to screw you. The queen of england, who my friend swears to god is still in control somehow, probably created it to keep her north american minions under control. To make sure that the New York Yankees and the crooked art dealer won more then the little guy... to put the little guy in his place. To break your heart. Good wins... only rarely. Evil wins much more often. 2003 Expos won 83. 2014 Blue Jays are destined to win 82 on a roller coaster that goes no where. I warned you. Keep calm and direct your energy at more fruitful endevers.

This franchise has been a 20 year disaster... doesn't mean that it won't turn around. But some of us won't believe until we see it. I'm a little silly sometimes but this franchise is maddening. I am fully expecting a crazy crash to meaningless games by August... It might not be logical but it just seems that's the way it goes. If they win I'll be happier then anybody. I will praise Beeston as a genius, I will watch everyday in September. I will make sure all my iphone apps are up to date so I get real time updates on my phone if I am out. I guess that sums up my feelings on this franchise. I haven't bothered to update my iphone apps cause I don't care... I used to get a text every time the Jays scored but my app is out of date. Haven't felt the need to update it cause I kinda think this whole hot streak is an illusion. If the jays are trailing I go to bed early and don't bother to check the score until morning. That will all change if they are in it in Septemeber. Just cause I don't believe right now doesn't make me a degenerate... or maybe it does in your book??
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 It really seems like the season may be lost based on the offense alone. I understand teams go through slumps, but watching the offense right now, there doesn't appear to be any progress at all. I'm not a superstitious person but, that night when the stadium booed that kid in the crowd, it gave me really bad vibes about the team. They haven't scored over 2 runs since then. I personally believe that it unleashed a Steve Bartman curse. You sound exactly like a superstitious person. Also, teams always look bad going through slumps, that's the point. They will rebound very soon and everyone will feel silly.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Reyes or melky get on in first today, Bautista or Edwin launch an absolute bomb, everyone relaxes in the line up again, we score 9 runs and the offensive slump is instantly over. I'm only concerned about the starting pitching and injuries. The offence will be fine. However, this last week is incredibly frustrating.

Or we could put a pillow over your face while you're sleeping and make you sleep for a real long time. (oops, I hope this kind of talk isn't frowned upon against a new/infrequent user, we wouldn't want their expressed views to have resistance, because their voice counts)

If this team makes the playoffs, which is a legit possibility no matter what you say, I will proceed to shame you all off the board.... unless you get a large tattoo reading "Bandwaggoner" across your forehead.

Add me to the spreadsheet.... I don't think bandwagonner is the right term. A bandwagoner would only be interested in good times. So they wouldn't post on the board through thick and thin. I would classify myself as a non-believer. I follow the team through think and thin. Just not quite as much through thin.
SparkyAnderson Verified Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 The team is just in a bad slump right now and I don't see the offense continuing to be this bad. Like many of you said its a long season and they are going to have periods where they look unstoppable and periods where everything goes wrong. Just have to have some faith that they will rebound.
BarkatToronto Verified Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 While this is a pretty bad slump its shown us that this team is not good enough to run away with the division. They are good enough to compete for the division They are good enough to compete for the wild card But they are not good enough to just run away with things. We should take some solace in knowing that this team has been terrible for 1 whole week now, 1-5 and yet has only lost two games on their deal As wilner pointed out, the 1993 champs went through a 1 and 10 stretch. It happens, and it happens more often then we realize. Look up any great team and you will find a slump at some point in the season. They will be fine. This is why is tay away from the board and radio at times like these

BarkatToronto Verified Member Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 On a more serious subject, This teams need Fapmust back in the lineup.

Most of us have been advocating for acquiring another top flight SP. The offense will bounce back, not the least bit worried about that despite this ugly, ugly stretch.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 The thing i dont understand is how so many people can't figure out that this is normal to slump. A 90 win team loses 72 times. Common sense would dictate that even the best teams will have terrible slumps. Unfortunately most people don't understand this.

We, in this city, have been scorned so long, we look for things to go wrong. So that we can predict the sky falling, Its a defense mechanism If the team crashes, this people get to say I told you so, and they get to be right. If the team starts winning again, they can be thrilled the team is winning and all is forgotten. People use this mechanism to guard themselves against disappointing negative feelings.

People are constantly pessimistic cry babies to guard against having potentially negative feelings in the future? Makes sense. Its baseball. Just chill the f*** out and enjoy the games, win or lose
