Convo Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Still said it, fairly argumentatively too, but it doesn't really matter since I'm getting the sense you've changed your mind Yes, let's move on...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 People wanted and still probably want Drew. He fits. Where would Morales play? Lind/EE has been great. I wouldn't have minded trading Lind for SP, letting Morales ride out the year as a non-platoon DH, and then doing what other teams do and cycling the old guys through DH, but I'm perfectly content with Lind.
bzapple Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 They're officially struggling, expect BTS and company back soon. I'm awaiting the "This team just isn't very good" thread.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 someone call into the Wilner show and ask if he feels sorry for Twin fans for me please.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 lets score one run baby steps
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Francisco pinch hit for Gose and put him in the CF.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 All I have seen is terrible hitting and no hits with risp. Starting pitching has been pretty darn good. This offense is exactly like last year. Homerun or nothing.we neeed a guy who can hit the ball and get on base consistently that's because this offense is exactly what it was last year. Francisco isn't going to put up 1 WAR months all year. Tolleson isn't a 3 Win player. The offense is pretty much as good as the top 5 hitters go. Edwin isn't going to hit 16 every month. Bautista isn't going to hit over .400 against lefties all year either. This isn't to say that the Jays won't have more of a streak or even win games but the offense the team had in May is not sustainable...nor is the lack of Offense the last week though.
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Just for a laugh, people should review the Raptors thread on this site, focusing particularly on early season posts. The extreme negativity about the team was similar to what we see here. You'd think people would learn but apparently not. What is really funny is the Jays at the moment are 5 games up in the AL East and the wildcard this season is probably going to be a very low win total. I suppose some posters would enjoy being 10 games out better, because they could write even longer posts about how bad the team is, how they never win, how great other teams like the Rays or Yankees are ( somebody needs to fill that void, BTS seems to have gone AWOL ). Here's a thought. Jays are in great shape still and a few setbacks happening now might firm up their resolve to acquire a pitcher at a time when it has some impact. If they need some offence, well, this lineup has plenty I have no worries, and Rasmus > Gose if we truly need an upgrade. Attendance seems to be growing, that suggests our budget is ok. Too much optimism for ya ? Not for me, they are 5 games up in a division full of pitching injuries and crap outs. The chances of meaningful games in September is 95%. A few losses now might put a scare into mgmt, if it is even a fraction like the knucklehead reactionary posts on here, we'll get a player within a month.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Jays are on their 10 game losing streak...worst offense in baseball...a groundball scores a run....but we strikeout

JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hopefully we finish this game strong and gain some momentum for the O's and Yanks. hopefully we score a f***ing run

Thats why we need to trade for a 2b/3b asap. The pitching can hold up, but you cant win games if you get shutout daily

The extreme negativity is by the same 10 or so clowns, no one in their right mind actually gets visibly upset about a baseball team getting blown out a few games in a row.

admin Site Manager Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Four shutouts in last five games. Geez, that's brutal.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Take at least 2 from the O's and I'll be happy. Hopefully, this slump makes Buck and Tabler STFU about Seitzer, but we know that's wishful thinking.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 We're in a good spot considering Yanks and O's have been losing. Time to take care of business on the road.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Four shutouts in last five games. Geez, that's brutal. I see what you're doing, the reverse jinx before the fourth one is official.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Haha how was that pitch any different than the previous ones
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 We need to get to Baltimore ASAP. Minnesota isn't actually that bad. Remember, this same team has already beaten the Yankees, Red Sox, Rays and Orioles this year. They also hit better since Danny Santana was called up and they signed Kendrys Morales. If the Twins had at least one more decent SP, they'd likely lead the AL Central. Another thing.. the AL East is garbage vs. the AL Central, with only the Blue Jays with a winning record vs. the Central, thanks to wins vs. Cleveland and Detroit.
bzapple Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 They scored a run! Everything is better now.
