Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 He will start game 1. Good Lord there is no Jesus shoule be MB
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 He is frustrating to watch at times, i'll give you that. But people calling for his head are way overreacting Considering his price tag, they are not overreacting.
Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Ivonka i want you in and around my mouth
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well when you give up the type of talent we did, and ended up with someone who performs like a no.4/5 starter, ppl had the right to be pissed. But why be pissed at Dickey? Its not his fault that AA traded D'arnaud and Syndergaard for him.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 only 51 pitches through two innings. Inb4 225-Pitch Complete Game.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 LOL That's fricken awesome. You should've taken screenshots. ECJF posted some... not sure if I saved them lol I'll check
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 He will start game 1. There's no way...Buehrle would start game 1 if we were to start the playoffs next week. Gibbons will do what is best for the team.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 According to many here, his one good year as a starter is considered to be of more value than entire career as a reliever Morrow has more years as a starter than as a reliever, and has better numbers as a starter than as a reliever overall... There is no "Morrow was at one point an 'ace reliever' but the Jays converted him into a starter" argument to be made. He's been inarguably more valuable as a starter than a reliever.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I doubt he's available today Jenkins long man today?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Good hustle lawrie, almost beat it out
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 He was almost safe yo, at least waddle out there Gibby!
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 But why be pissed at Dickey? Its not his fault that AA traded D'arnaud and Syndergaard for him. AA gets shat on a lot on this board anyway. Just add Dickey for not performing, let alone up to expectations, and no one was even expecting him to duplicate 2012.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 But why be pissed at Dickey? Its not his fault that AA traded D'arnaud and Syndergaard for him. I don't think anybody is pissed at him personally, its his performance.
Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 anyone notice we havent used delabar in a while? why is he even still up here ?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 The other frustrating thing about dickey is that he must have his personal catcher taking up a bench spot, luckily thole has contributed nicely so far.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 What the f*** does this have to do with Dickey getting "paid like an ace"? If I rephrased it to "paid as though he were expected to be the #1 pitcher for the 2014 Toronto Blue Jays, but with the understanding that there are higher paid pitchers of varying quality around the league" make you feel better? Motherf***er is paid as though he should be the best pitcher on this team.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 LOL That's fricken awesome. You should've taken screenshots. LOL FOUND MY SCREENSHOTS. This is ECJF's trolling in action... so many lols that dat http://i.imgur.com/cmbWsBO.png http://i.imgur.com/2SktDTP.png
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Why in the God's holy name does RA f***ing Dickey have a personal catcher????? have you seen JPA catch Dickey? that's why. Knuckler is hard to catch.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 3rd highest salary on the Jays this season, highest for a pitcher... He makes 2 million less than David Price... He's getting a stupid amount of money that is not at all relative to any reasonable expectation of what an old man with a bad back can do on a baseball diamond. comparative salary is nonsense bro. Jays have a lot of really good salaries. there are only a handful of aces in all of baseball. the Fact of what price makes is completely irrelevant. what he makes doesn't make him an ace. what he does on the field and the expectations of what he will do make an ace. you need to move on bro. and he's 4th. even if you want to go buy pay check, Dickey isn't even in the top 50 for starting pitcher salaries. You're just wrong
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well when you give up the type of talent we did, and ended up with someone who performs like a no.4/5 starter, ppl had the right to be pissed. We gave up D'arnaud and Synder.....we got tricky dickey and Thole. Thole's numbers in the bigs under the age of 25 were better than D'arnaud's have been. Dickey has underperformed, but if he ends the year with an era under 4 and 200 plus innings that's a number 3....we wanted him to be a 1/2...he hasn't been that, but he hasn't been a total flop. Dollars played into things too...we got him at 10 mil per season for an extended time and those are not ace type dollars.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 anyone notice we havent used delabar in a while? why is he even still up here ? We've all noticed yes Gibby is smart and knows he can't trust Delabar in any high leverage situations right now. He has been using McGowan as that right hander in big spots.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Dickey's contract is excellent. The issue is what we gave up for him, not what he is making.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 LOL FOUND MY SCREENSHOTS. This is ECJF's trolling in action... so many lols that dat Horsepower
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I honestly don't know who to cheer for in BOS vs BAL
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 Horsepower They believed him too lmfao
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 I honestly don't know who to cheer for in BOS vs BAL That's a good question. Baltimore is right behind us but Boston is Boston
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 If I rephrased it to "paid as though he were expected to be the #1 pitcher for the 2014 Toronto Blue Jays, but with the understanding that there are higher paid pitchers of varying quality around the league" make you feel better? Motherf***er is paid as though he should be the best pitcher on this team. Buehrle gets paid more. have another drink and give up. your sense of logic is broken. http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_man06esc9g1rwr0kz.gif
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I honestly don't know who to cheer for in BOS vs BAL Sox for tonight. And damn... Dickey Cy Young mode.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I honestly don't know who to cheer for in BOS vs BAL a terrible bus crash for both teams?
