Convo Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 So he gave up a few fly balls in a row. xFIP takes that into account. Nope. You have to trust DIPS the most in small samples. In less than 1 and 1/3 games does xFIP tell you his fastball is straight as an arrow? Does xFIP tell you he's leaving his fastball up? Does xFIP tell you this guy has bad command?
jays76 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Hopefully Hendriks can hang tough here, he really should have pitched around Myers a little more instead of serving up that meatball.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Does xFIP take into account that the second time through the lineup the Rays are going to have no problem smashing those beach-balls that he is lobbing in?
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Dd you watch the last two innings? He was not pitching well idc what xFIP saya Watching the game pollutes your perspective on what's actually happening. The first inning was just as impressive (more, even) as the second was bad.
jays76 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Hendriks is losing the plot, he's gotta get himself into it mentally here.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 He needs to relax a bit, seems like he's rushing his pitches. Not everyone can be Mark Buehrle.
BarkatToronto Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 IF Gibby wants to win this game, I'd take Hendricks out now
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 ya Hendriks. good pitcher. ANOTHER FASTBALL THAT WENT BOOM.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 IS Hendricks going to induce ANY ground balls?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 He's asking for trouble, get the ball down
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 warning track but an out I guess
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 LOL at people thinking xfip tells you everything, hendricks has been terrible so far, lucky he has not given up a couple more HR's.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Navarro almost botched that strike call.

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Sigh they are hitting everything, even the fouls, incredibly hard.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 warning track out over and over again. Australian guy is s*** but he will contribute with 2 of the 9 games of the actual winning streak.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Wow that was a ground ball? That happens with this guy? AND WOW HE WAS OFF THE BASE. WOW.
