Yes if i was rebuilding i'd take the deal in a heartbeat. Really like my chances this year though.

 

Plus its hard to say if Glasnow will come back the same pitcher or if he will drop down to a mid rotation talent.

Thanks. I've seen many rankings with Davis higher. But the fact that Carlson had 113wRc+ in the MLB during his 22 year, should have a lot of weight.

Rankings are just someone else’s opinion, don’t take them as absolutes. If a player is within ~50 spots passed top 100 they’re probably pretty close in value

 

Give me the player who is doing it in the majors already when everything else seems equal

What about his 30.7% K rate in AA over 76 games. Shouldn't that be a worry?

It's a concern. He struggled with pitch recognition but got better as the season went on.

Looking at this from a risk evaluation point of view.

 

Pitchers are so finicky and can hurt easy. (I realize McCullers has a long IL history) and Witt Jr and Brennan Davis have not played one game in MLB.. Prospects are just that... It is very rare for an Acuna or Soto type.. You are giving up a lot for a lot of risk. You have huge upside, but also putting a lot of eggs in one basket of unknowns.

 

I own Witt in a league, I have been and continue to build depth at SS because I don't want to put all my eggs in a rookie who might do s*** his first few months or have to get sent down and then come back up...

 

I would maybe do that deal without Carlson, but I have the same mindset as L54. A known, plus a hell of a lot for two unknowns...

Don't feel obligated to shift one deal because how another deal was viewed. The goal is to always have each party of a deal happy with the side they are getting

seems like they're turning on me for it. Been called out a couple times even though every other team has been a willing partner. So I don't know what to do to. Lol.

Make a plan and stick to it. Block out noise positive or negative about your trades. Been there done that... You will look back in the future and there will be some good ones and bad ones that seemed for sure one way at the time, but did not turn out that way. Don't let chatter/the peanut gallery shape your game plan.

Thanks, I had a strategy of hoarding top players/prospects, even though I knew I couldn't compete this past year. And now I'm using all my assets to upgrade. I made a few really good moves, but I didn't think I'd get the negative reaction over it like I have.

A guy is coming after JRam hard in one of my leagues... I might have already done some version of this deal, but I don't have any 3b depth. I tried to shop for some 3B depth, but no joy for who I was looking for, insane prices.

 

However, would be interested in opinions.. Dynasty H2H 20 team League:

 

I have JRam. This guy is offering me my choice of Freeman or Goldschmidt, Kyle Seager (3b SEA/FA) or Eugenio Suarez, and Anthony DeSclafani

 

So I would get three of the above. Also offering me the same as above with a 1st rnd pick instead of DeSclafani...

Freeman is extremely valuable, but I don’t think Desclafani and one of those 3B make up the difference between him and Ramirez. You should be getting another high end piece, and not 30+ year old mid roster players.

I’d rather just have Freeman + high end young player

 

Those 3B mean squat and DeSclafani is fine but could turn into a pumpkin at any moment
