Official Fantasy Baseball Advice Thread

I'm in BORED, lol. I'm just not very good at category leagues. Points leagues dumb things down for me and it's easy for me to work with a single number. My learning-disability ass can't handle much more than that.

 

And it's even tougher in a league like BORED where I came in as a complete fantasy noob but I inherited a team I had no hand in building and pretty much everyone else in the league had more than a decade of experience.

 

I've been thinking hard about pulling out of BORED lately for that reason. I don't think it's fair to the other GMs that I've got a dud squad.

 

I wish we had a redraft league on here. All the dynasty leagues have teams that were meticulously built up over all these years. A redraft keeps things fresh and I'd enjoy that a lot more.

 

Stick it out with your BORED team. You don’t have to be good right away, and selling off pieces you don’t have attachment to will allow you to rebuild quicker. It’s not as sexy as Kyle Tucker for Jesus Sanchez trades you’ve been making but with a little effort you can build a good team over time. The only difference is you need to pay attention to prospects a little bit.

It's too hard to sift through his spam posts about his novice redraft leagues and now he's apparently chronicling all of his transactions in book format.

Smith and Carroll is probably fair. Smith is a top 5 dynasty C who you plug into your lineup right away. Carroll might be the best prospect in the minors.

 

The pitcher should be like Patrick Sandoval, not Corbin Burnes. Big W for Jim.

Redraft points league. Clase is projected to be better but King is projected for more innings and has been more valuable so far.

Yeah, I'm not as scared with him as some prospects. But he totally deserved the demolition.

I have a surplus of prospects. I have a good trading trading relationship with another team. I'm a contender and he isn't. Would a trade of Gunnar Henderson, Moreno, Tovar, Jhoan Duran, Lodolo be fair for Bieber? Beiber's advanced stats aren't great, but I don't want to propose a bad trade with him.

 

Also, whould you include Torkelson in the trade to get Andrew Vaughan? Or does Torkelson have more upside?

Lodolo, Duran, and Tovar for Bieber imo and that might be an overpay...im really low on Bieber longterm though

Yeah, I've been called out multiple times for trades I've made. I traded McClanahan, Verlander, and Clevinger for Woodruff and was told I "raped" the other team. It'd be leading the league if I never made that trade. So I'm cautious making trades now and need advice. Lol.

Hey, yeah, right now of the players I'm offering up, I'd only protect Seiya and maybe Gunnar or Lodolo. So in the long term I'd be replacing those players with Bieber and Vaughan. I feel it's an upgrade for my team both in the short term and long term.
