BTS Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Ok yeah you are the guy to ask about him. His underlying stats are awesome but the results aren't there. What are your thoughts on him? He was throwing the curve more often with good results in his first two outings, but that was against Baltimore and Oakland. Better offenses have been on everything in his last three outings. I haven't looked under the hood, but the curve that looked promising early has been ineffective for three games now. Basically he looks like Josh Fleming again.

I don't think there's too many guys in this league who look at statcast stuff.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 I didn’t see but I’d bet Dylan Bundy was the top drop this week
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I didn’t see but I’d bet Dylan Bundy was the top drop this week On F/T it's Mercado at -10%, Bundy is at +0.8%
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 On F/T it's Mercado at -10%, Bundy is at +0.8% Numbers are probably mixed from everyone picking him up as a stream before dropping him
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Your f*** buddy Spanky picked up your Chapman today Oi... you ready to throw down??? Not my fault he's an idiot.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 Our old friend Edward Olivares might be interesting in deep leagues and is worth monitoring. The projection systems have him as a league average bat but he is looking better in fantasy due to perhaps 20/20 potential.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 I had been trying to get Vladdy for Olson since I started in this league (even though Olson had been better so far). Guy was the most hesitant owner to make trades in the league. Would not accept a straight 1-for-1 and even refused all of my Olson+1 offers. Today he told me he'd definitely say yes if I could get him Travis d'Arnaud. So I flipped Collins + Rich Hill for d'Arnaud and then Olson + d'Arnaud for Vladdy. I had picked up Rich Hill in free agency for a spot start earlier today and he scored 40+ points for my team against the guy who I just sent him to, lol. I was about to drop him anyway. I think I "lose" both of the above trades in their own vacuums but I immediately followed up the two trades with free agent claims on Ryan Jeffers and Mitch Keller. I think I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out. Out: Olson, Collins, Hill In: Vladdy, Jeffers, Keller

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 you won, lol never start mitch keller though I'm 100% starting him on Saturday, lmao. He actually hasn't had a negative points performance yet this season and is pitching against the Reds next. If they actually break out of their slump against him, I'll consider it as me having given the Reds organization a charity donation. Until DeGrom and Heaney are back from my IL, I'm using the two open spots on my roster to stream pitchers every day. Keller felt like the best bet for Saturday out of the available options.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Austin Hays or Teoscar Hernandez in a saber league with no runs or RBI? Would appreciate a quick response if anyone's around. I'm guessing it's Teo and not close but Hays might be breaking out.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Sent: Austin Hays (135.9 points, 5.4 FP/G, #4 LF, #81 overall) Chris Taylor (103.3 points, 4.9 FP/G, #7 2B, #190 overall) Received: Trea Turner (96.2 points, 4.2 FP/G, #13 SS, #225 overall) Julio Rodriguez (80.3 points, 3.2 FP/G, #15 CF, #306 overall) I drafted Chris Taylor in the 14th round and picked up Hays in a 1-for-1 trade earlier today where I sent out Jesus Sanchez. Trea Turner was drafted 3rd overall and Julio was my own free agent claim earlier in the season before I sent him away in a deal for Marcus Semien. Someone please tell me I won this trade, lol. I thought I won in a landslide when I made the deal but I looked at Turner's Savant page after the fact and it made me cringe a bit. Is Turner a pumpkin now?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Got another interesting choice. Jhoan Duran or David Robertson? Duran has 60 points after his implosion the other night and D-Rob has 120 so far, which is like 7th best among all relievers. But I really really like Duran, lol. Who would y'all choose between the two?

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Duran, especially if there's an SP/RP roster advantage. I decided to keep Duran. Instead, I moved Victor Arano and Julio Rodriguez for Framber Valdez, flipped Valdez for Garrett Whitlock and picked up Tommy Pham with my open roster spot lol. Arano --> Whitlock Julio --> Pham

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 This a redraft? Yup. No chance Julio would be such a hot potato in a keeper, haha.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Would you trade Jose Abreu for Jeremy Pena straight up in a dynasty?
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Oh yes That for me or the post above? Lol
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 I have a tough one to weigh right now. I got Kyle Tucker and the guy who owns Seiya Suzuki is offering him in a one-for-one. Tucker started the year s*** and is warming up now. Suzuki started the year on a tear and has slowed down. Steamer likes Seiya more, Zips likes Tucker more. Savant makes Tucker look really good and Seiya look really not that good. I like Seiya more from a non-stats perspective but I'm torn.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Yes, reactionary but this may be a stumper soon, if not now: Dynasty: Espinal or Lux? For 2b at least I have both and not sure which is my 1a there at this point

For 2b at least I have both and not sure which is my 1a there at this point I'm still a fantasy noob so my opinion is worthless but I'd keep Espinal and use Lux in a trade because he probably has more trade value still.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 I'm still favouring Lux but I think TL is right. Just trade Lux who is far more valuable (to someone).
