Is Rodon worth giving up multiple picks and Pearson? Or is the injury risk too high, especially considering he didn't get a qualifying offer? After the season he had I'm guessing his medicals aren't good at all?

Hey, he hasn't specified yet, but the way he's talking, he'll probably want a 1st and 2nd round. However, that's after 20 players on each team are protected. So basically 21st and 22nd round. And I'm fine with that. But I'll also lose Pearson doing this trade. So I'm wondering if losing Pearson and some picks are worth it, based on Rodon's late season shoulder issues?

Sometimes I’ve wondered if fantsynewb was really in a league, or he just posted stuff for attention. If he’s legit, he’d prob be a good addition.

 

Yeah, I'm real. I only used to play redraft leagues and did really well in those. This is the first Dynasty league I've been in and first league with trading. So I should be called DynastyFantasyNewb. Lol. It has been a big learning curve for me when it comes to trades and value of certain players who are underperforming or injured but have upside.

 

You guys have helped a lot.

 

My current roster that will be protected in the 12 team league is:

 

C: Moreno

1st: Vlad

2nd: Albies

SS: Franco

3rd: Moncada

OF: Alvarez

OF: Kelenic

OF: Carlson

UI: Torkelson

U: Abrams/Noelvi Marte

 

P: Bieber

Just need to find so temporary guys to get me through before some of the rookies get called up.

Rodon is a ticking time bomb but if Pearson sucks or is injured again this year his stock is gonna drop significantly. If you’re a legit contender and Rodon can help you win this year I’d probably do it.

 

I also bet there is another arm you could target for Pearson+ with a higher floor. I’d rather have a guy like Berrios or Logan Webb for example who might not be valued as high.

I was able to get Rodon for a 3rd round pick. So basically giving up my 23rd best player.

 

One more quick question, would you take Moreno or Ruiz for C? Ruiz is actually projecting very well for C, but I'm so high on Moreno.

 

The players I can't protect in the league right now are: Pearson, Lux, Adell, Ruiz, Patino, Sean Murphy, Suarez, Brandon Marsh, and Duran. I'd like to keep a few of these players in the draft. I'm going to try and get a few high picks for a couple of them to do that. Who would you try and keep of those players and which are the most likely to get a top pick?

I had both Manoah and Webb to start the year and dropped them before the season started. I tried to find a way to get them again but it didn't work out. Still bothers me a lot. I get obsessive of those kinds of things. Lol.

Well, Spanky grades trades on “how even they were at the time”, so that’s what counts. I traded a young Kyle Tucker in A ball for a soon to be completely useless Matt Harvey but it wasn’t really a bad trade at the time, so it’s all good to me!

Danger has let my Bellinger for Alcantara straight trade sit on moth balls.

What’s the peanut gallery think? Belly only has to prob get to 3/5 Belly for it to be good IMO.

Plus Alcantara could get hurt and miss 2 years- pitchers

I actually assumed that’s what it was. I’m aware it’s out there as well if I ever want to pull it back, or do something else with Belly. I actually never shame anyone’s offer. I’ll merely disclose my own when they’re turned down or left to sit (or an offer I’m considering sending), just for outside perspective

The order is correct, considering proximity. Marte is furthest away but has the most power of the 3 though.

I thought it would be fun to recruit a friend but I don't want to cross any lines when it comes to collusion. Is there an issue with getting a friend to buy the team, and would we need to disclose it?

With most people there will be no issue at all. I do dynasty leagues with my brother all the time. Its always great to have someone you actually know in a league. Keeps your interest more imo. As spanky said just let them know you know the guy

Happens all the time, that is normally the number one source of finding people for leagues, friend or associate of friends etc.

 

The check and balance on this is that all leagues have some sort of trade approval committee or Commissioner veto power. I am in one league where trades sit for 48 hrs and owners have a chance to object. You need a high % though to veto. Another league I am in there is a trade committee. You need approval of 2 or 3 (ICR) of the members of the trade committee. I believe most of the leagues with affiliation to this board are Commissioner veto only.

 

The point is, if it appears your buddy is sending Acuna and Soto to you for Randall Grichuk, then the process is there to veto that trade if it looks like collusion etc.
