Notes:

MLB:

  • No Important Notes Today.

Jays:

  • Hutchison will try to build on his first shutout and help the Blue Jays win for the fifth time in six games. The right-hander threw a three-hitter to outpitch Yu Darvish in a 2-0 victory over Texas on Friday.
  • Melky Cabrera continues to swing a hot bat for Toronto as he went 4-for-5 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored in Tuesday night's 7-4 victory over Boston. Cabrera also tied his career high with three extra-base hits, which was the first time he accomplished that feat since July 3, 2011.
  • The Blue Jays have hit at least one home run in 22 of their past 27 games dating back to April 22. They've out-homered the opposition 45-24 over that same span and finished Tuesday night's game with the AL lead in extra-base hits at 161.

Red Sox:

  • Buchholz had one bad inning at Minnesota on Thursday, allowing three second-inning runs, and worked in and out of trouble over six total, giving up 10 hits in a 4-3, 10-inning defeat. While he's gone 10-5 with a 2.52 ERA in 18 lifetime starts against the Blue Jays, he's 2-3 with a 3.75 mark in seven starts in the series at Fenway Park.
  • Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli went 2-for-4 with a walk during Tuesday's loss to Toronto and has now reached base in all but two of his 41 games this season. Napoli has reached base in all 24 games at Fenway Park, which is the longest streak to begin a season since Kevin Youkilis reached in his first 32 games during the 2007 season.
  • With Boston agreeing to a one-year deal with free-agent shortstop Stephen Drew on Tuesday, Farrell that Xander Bogaerts will move to third base - where he played last season while Drew manned short - when Drew is ready.

hoping EE can continue his hot streak but those are some bad numbers against Buchholz.

Jays had CB on the ropes hard in his last start against them at Rogers Center and they let him off. Lets hope tonight they can keep up some momentum on 0 from last night and Drew brings that live FB he had last start.

Just an observation, where is the forum rule saying I cannot comment on how ugly a player is? I've seen similar comments here before? That's what I thought.

No I said this before it does matter. A lot of MLB players are in the closet. Why do you think Dan Haren has had such a good career? His stuff isn't that good.

No one said there is a rule......I'm just confused as to where you're going with this? I just don't see how saying so and so is an "ugly f***" at the start of the game thread serves any benefit lol.

I don't want to side with Metallijay but part of being a fan is to hate on the other team.

You can say it later lots, but only if CB is pitching well against us.

We will win this game, easy. Don't even know if I will watch I am so confident we will win

Hutch will go 8 strong innings and hand it over to Janssen for the save.

I wonder if Gibby will pull the 'pine tar' card.

Love the park factors in the GDT. while most are aware which parks a hitters parks and which are pitchers parks this gives everyone the exact data. great add fatcow

Absolutely should, particularly if it's as blatant as last year...
