Joeybats19 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Isn't Stroman supposed to be this super skilled rookie? What's up with him? In every game he's appeared in on the jays, he's let in more than 1 run. 3 runs tonight. Come on Stroman, what's going on?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 We should send him down and call up Goins amirite? this is like your 4th thread in 3 days lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Seems pretty ready to me. Use minor league central! They have SIERA, which, however infrequently updated it is, filters out HR/FB luck. And looks nice too. /JFaS
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 He's thrown 6 inning. Would you make this thread after a 6-inning start? Dudebro, sample sizes are for nerds.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Is a fking little kid chewing gum like he owns the MLB. He ain't ready for the show, too cocky and an idiot right now. He needs to grow up.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 He's thrown 6 inning. Would you make this thread after a 6-inning start? Not only has he only thrown 6 innings, but he's thrown them on 2 or so days' rest when he's been preparing as a starter since ST 2013. Maybe this doesn't matter much, but I think it may require a bit of time to reacquaint himself to coming out of the pen every other day or 2 days.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Kid looks like a bust to me. Jays should trade him while he still has some prospect lustre.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I'd rant about fans being dumn, but I'm a bit worried that Stroman is going to be optioned in the next hour. I'm too emotionally vacant to care.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Seems pretty ready to me. http://i.imgur.com/Cvhb2Ud.png He doesn't have anything left to prove in the minors. He should be in the rotation over McGowan or Happ. Based on five games at AAA?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I'd put Stroman and Hendriks in the rotation. McGowan to the BP and then i would beg the Texas Rangers to take Happ off our hands.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Well... yeah. When you carve up AA over 110+ innings, then carve up AAA over 25+ innings, why leave him down? Especially when you have s*** in the starting rotation.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Stroman is too small and MLB is so big for him. http://media.giphy.com/media/tifCTtoW05XwY/giphy.gif
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Ok agreed s*** in the rotation. Fine if we want him to learn up here but he's not ready right now for a big load. The pitching plane does not look good on him. Same as at spring training. Who were his five AAA games against? Any teams with bats or were they schlubs?
tercet Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 His fastball is just batting practice right now, hes used to blowing it by people with mediocre command/control. Hes gotta have better command/control of it.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Well... yeah. When you carve up AA over 110+ innings, then carve up AAA over 25+ innings, why leave him down? A better question is why would we call him up? We have Happ and McGowan bro! Keep Stroman in AAA he's got to rack up more winz
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 We are going to need to retool soon, I hoped he could come up in the last half. We are going to lose Rasmus and Melky after this season and probably a few pitchers like Morrow et al. This roster will turn over probably 50% by next season.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Nothing is up with Stroman. Unfortunately he's not a huge prospect, just a guy who should become decent. It's his first go with the big club what do you expect? He should still get a chance to start over Happ or McGowan. I can't believe 40% of the Jays rotation are those two guys.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Last time I checked it has been over 2 years since Stroman pitched from the bullpen. His warmup routine, pitch philosophy, overall mindset, and skillset are all as a starter. Breaking this routine has not boded well especially when he is facing major league batters. If they gave him a start I bet he would throw at least 6 innings with 3 runs or less.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I have a question. Why was the team rushing to make a 6 man rotation just to include Happ, but aren't even considering that with Stroman?
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I wouldn't mind Stroman being optiioned, so he could start on days D-Mac or Happ is pitching, he should be starting. I wouldn't either as long as it's just to stretch him out again with the intention of him coming back up very soon to start for one of the 2-headed monster. Thing is, they are clueless. They had already aligned Stroman's starts with McGowan's, but McGowan had one of his lucky starts and like they're wont to do, they changed their plans and called him up to pitch out of the BP.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 You've gotta stop thinking rationally in order to understand this FO. This is true lol
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I have a question. Why was the team rushing to make a 6 man rotation just to include Happ, but aren't even considering that with Stroman? Because we still owe Happ 5 million, and AA is a f***ing knob who doesn't want to admit that Happ was a bad investment.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Because he had some naked pics of somebody?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I have a question. Why was the team rushing to make a 6 man rotation just to include Happ, but aren't even considering that with Stroman? New guy in the Analytics Dept. flipped a coin and Happ (heads) won. You can't argue the math.
