burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Probably asked that question after a media scrum because that's the only time he talks to the media which he has to do. Remember last year reading that he wouldn't do any talking to the media unless it was after his start (which he has to do).
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Of course it was Arash Madani. What a f***ing moron. Why is that guy the new Barry Davis? Literally anyone else on earth would have been a better choice, including Kim Jong Un I guess he could just borrow Oh's interpreter
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 People forget Stroman walked on to a team that was contending for a playoff spot in 2014 and a WS in 2015/2016 Losing can't be easy for him This is the smartest thing you've ever said, and I actually entirely agree with you.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 "My team picks me up a ton, so a lot of those times I put an emphasis on making better pitches, not necessarily my teammates," Stroman said. "They've picked me up all year. I should be able to pitch better in times like that, when my team doesn't have my back, because they've had my back a ton of times. Love my guys on my team, and like I said, I would go to war with them every day." Yup, douchebag right? Put it in context, geez.

The context being losing your s*** at a reporter for asking a question you deem unnecessary (not even insulting)? His competitiveness is good, but he needs to reign in his emotions. It's embarrassing.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Spanky has dibs on Stro's left nut.

Regardless King, respect runs 2 ways professionally, many matches to this fire.

But there is no indication at all that Arash or the other media said something to disrespect him.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Nice delete Spanky. I disagreed with my final comment. I still need more context.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Lol "yeeea yeeea I'm Marcus Stroman I'm the greatest". This guy has never done anything, he needs to take a look at people like David Wells, actual pitchers, has Stroman won 20 games, 19 , 18, 17, 16 ?.... who the hell does he think he is some sort of a baseball God. I guess when you are that pathetic and you think just because you've made it to the majors as a short loser you've reached the pinnacle and "proved da haters wrong" because hes done absolutely nothing. ...

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 If Arash asked me any question at all, I'd snap too. This is a good point. Tell that useless f*** to go back to lawn bowling or whatever the hell he was doing before this inexplicable promotion.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Oh true. After game scrum is definitely the absolute best time to ask that. After game scrum's are one of the most idiotic traditions in sports.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 I have to say I'm with Stro on this one. If Arash is doing a piece on the Canadians, then he should lead with that "I'm just finishing up a piece on the Vancouver Canadians and I was wondering if you could tell us what your experience was there. I bet our young prospects really enjoyed being around an established major league starter like you" Stro shouldn't be a dick, but he's right. He's been balls, the team's been balls, it should be very frustrating to all 25 guys in that clubhouse. Then the media cherry picks statements and adds fuel to the fire. The media is AIDS to society.

I think the only reason the media is asking him a question like this after a game is because that's the only time he grants them access. If he was more accessible in between starts then the media would know that's the time to ask him a question like that. Stroman is very smart I'll give him that. He's always well mannered in front of the cameras and in the public eye but once the cameras are off he's an *******.

He's had lots of run ins with the media before. Hell he blocks writers if they write anything negative about him.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Reporter was being nice and asking him an easy question. What would Stroman prefer to chat about? How s***** the Jays are? How s***** he is? People calling him the ShitShow instead of the StroShow? His s***** rap videos?

Sto seems to represent himself, not the jays. I wish he could turn things around, we could use him as a player, not as a mouth-piece.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 He angrily called me out in the middle of the clubhouse and with Josh Donaldson doing an excited, hilarious play-by-play of the exchange, suggested that I was suggesting he could not be an ace because he wasn’t tall enough and wasn’t white enough. lmao, was this made public?
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Look Stroman seems like a knob, but Griffin can f*** right off with his no one can have success without answering questions from the media theory. It’s only an issue if it causes clubhouse unrest with the other players - which doesn’t seem to be the case. I personally in that situation would hate talking to the media, though I’d like to think I’d handle it better than Stroman does.
onwego Verified Member Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 So much we would never have known about unless Griffin thoughtfully wrote it up for us.

Lol literally in his article says players will look around talking to the media to make sure Stroman isn't around as to not upset him. I'd almost guarantee that's Travis. Stroman is a great player but my god is annoying as f***.

Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
