I'd agree that Hutchison is on an innings limit. However, they're letting McGowan and Happ start over their top pitching prospect so what would be so different about moving Hutchison to the pen to start the year and let Redmond or Rogers start? I really don't see much difference between Redmond, Rogers, McGowan and Happ except that Redmond has been a bit more successful than the other 3 over the last year or so.

 

I really wish there was a method to their stupidity, but I can't find it. They're babying Stroman who pitched close to 140 innings last season, but they aren't babying a guy who pitched around 60 innings in 2013 while coming back from TJS.

 

I agree... but that is their reasoning, whether it makes sense or not. Blame AA and his internal solutions program. it's like giving a job to your retarded half cousin just because he's related and will work for next to nothing, but you have to keep him away from your sheep.

President should be first to go. AA might be able to be salvaged under proper guidance.

 

 

I have no problem firing Beeston first and letting the new president hire the new GM, but you've gotta save $ somewhere and I figure Beeston makes more than AA.

 

Ideally, clean house.

How did Stroman look tonight?

 

First couple pitches looked ok, but then his fastball flattened out and his junk stopped bending and started hanging. In short it was a poor performance (same could be said for everyone that pitched tonight).

We are in serious trouble if Kevin Pillar is considered our best position prospect above A-Ball lol.

 

Pillar was brought up because Gose hadn't been down for 10 days. If it had come 1 day later it would have been Gose.... just sayin

Well, that was ugly. BTW, that was Tolleson's 5th career pitching appearance (4 minors, 1 MLB). I expect Stroman and Wagner to be optioned after this game for fresh arms. Stroman needs to go back to starting in AAA, as he's not MLB ready yet.

Stroman is an absolute alpha and sees himself as a starter. being brought up to the pen is beneath him in his mind and he is trying too hard to prove he's a starter. The problem is mental and should sort itself out.

Beyond an assessment of the catcher’s numbers at the plate, their internal data suggested the quality of his contact made it likely that his offensive performance in 2013 wasn’t a fluke.
