Hmm, I should actually include pitcher SB ability.

I dunno how significant it would be but is pitcher defense included in run prevention as of now?

Another losing night...sigh.

Also, the f*** is up with McCarthy? 15:1 K:BB and a 8.00 ERA. That guy drives me insane.

I can't seem to make any profit on DK, lol. Was killing it on FG. More plebs there?

Anyone tracking 50/50 win% of optimals on both sites?

I've been doing alright in Fanduel but way too early to tell. I know the price adjusts but I've just tried to make sure all my players make at least a bit of sense. FWIW I found hockey not that difficult if you put the time in to make your lineup. With 50/50s you are bound to have some clueless entrants so the odds aren't too bad IMO.

Would like to know this as well. But since the point system is different you'd probably need at least a couple months of games for the data to be a large enough statistical sample.

Yeah I did very well in hockey. It helps that the spectator audience is so behind on advanced stats in that sport, I think. If you have any type of reasonable projections then you're laughing, whereas in baseball anybody doing DFS probably knows about park factors, handedness factors, and can look up ZiPS or Steamer in a click.

If I lose my recent DK deposit I'll probably stop playing. I have enough other players and teams to root for.

What I really want is just the average min point totals to place in 50/50 and tournaments each day. I haven't been able to find anywhere that has that data. Rotoguru has historical player salary for the current year (although past years would be helpful).

People may find this kind of useful. Unfortunately, FD apparently uses their own player id (seriously, why???), but at least you can easily match something like data from gameday (pitch fx database for example) to fangraphs data or projections without errors.

Results so far. The results SHOULD be better than this going forward, there's still a lot of randomness involved. Does look like DK has been better than FD though. I would expect it to continue to be better as well because of the extra pitcher (easier to do K, BB etc on game to game basis) and the better scoring system for pitchers.

I'm at 0.664 win% on FD this year.

Much lower than I expected for both! Should trend up though. Being under 50% makes no sense. Being under 60% makes little sense.

That's not necessarily true. If I understand right most people playing this are using some sort of model, and it could be the case (for many possible reasons) that they simply have better models (very important: for doing daily fantasy leagues)

edit: or are using them more effectively, which was something LTR suggested was important before the year

This is definitely not true.

There are definitely a lot of people not using any models. And even the ones who have some type of model, I think JFaS' would be a bit superior.
