Traffic is way up. Dozens of new posters. Over 300 logged in during the last few games. Times are good.

 

Give the new people a chance to settle in. Say hi. Don't jump on them if they don't know the board "etiquette" (or lack thereof) and don't make fun of brand new people.for saying something about baseball that might be wrong. Give them a chance. Politely correct people. We want them to stay. They'll figure out shown the place works.

Go check out the old forum. I went over there to see if there traffic was up too and the board has totally changed and is complete s***. This will probably drive quite a few here.

Some constructive criticism...don't take the wrong way but..the mods do nothing about the same group of posters who attack anyone who doesn't agree with their group think, or they don't agree with, they insult attack with impunity, that is where the issue lies.

That's why admin started this thread, and why I have reminded people with this update

 

Yes, some of the hard core long-term forum regulars are hard on new members sometimes. We are just asking them to be patient with new people.

 

In-fighting and bickering among long-term regulars, and annoying posters who keep coming back with new identities when they get banned are other issues.

On a related note, admin ran an IP check for duplicate accounts. It was worthless.

 

Not a single bad poster was found to have multiple accounts accessed from the same IP address.

 

At the same time, MANY legit good posters were found to be sharing IP addresses with other legit good posters.

 

With the way IP addresses are handled by providers these days, and with how people often access the board via smartphone from all over the place, IP checks are RARELY helpful

Even though I am new to this board, I am a seasoned veteran, and my knowledge of the Blue Jays is second to none. Should one of the "more experienced" members dare to attack me, they will see that I will respond with fury, challenge them to a duel, and deliver them a series of kicks to the head, while doing backflips in my 3 car garage.

 

I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of this, as my opinions are always correct, and if you think Wilner jumps on people, then you have not seen anything yet.
