kgm1 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Per Sportsnet And he has accepted this , wow that is great news , Now we can keep him there for 125 day DL and 30 day rehab . If he isn't pitching well by then ,well it would be DFA time .

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 This is surprising, but good news. He was talking as though he was healthy after his last start, and I wouldn't have expected him to accept a DL stint. This is more or less a buy us some time until we find out what to do with him or find a good hitman.

Maybe they told him it was the DL or to a never used part of the bullpen for the rest of his contract? lol

He was talking as though he was healthy after his last start, and I wouldn't have expected him to accept a DL stint. Well maybe he needed to find an excuse for his poor performance. No one should want any employer to think that's how they pitch when they are 100%.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 McGowan named 5th starter. yipee. What are they going to call this injury? Pain in the Ass

He was talking as though he was healthy after his last start, and I wouldn't have expected him to accept a DL stint. Awful news. The guy is healthy, his bad performance is due to their lack of talent; DFA, trade or send him to the minors. Jeffress is happy right now.

Well is IS good news in a way obviously It means Happ won't be in the rotation and it frees up a 25 man roster spot (at least for now) Edited March 26, 2014 by G-Snarls
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I'm not a Happ fan by any stretch, but the more SP options on the team, the better. Now we have a starting 5, plus Redmond, Rogers, and Happ still in the organization, plus guys like Stroman, Nolin, Jenkins, etc, in the minors. There is a reasonable amount of depth in there to avoid a 2013 redux, at least.

no soup for yu Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 some highlights “I see him getting healthy and being back in our rotation, absolutely,” Anthopoulos said. “We think Happ’s a great starter. We think he’s got a chance to help our team.” “No question, we have plans for Jay. He’s an important part of the team,” Anthopoulos said.
no soup for yu Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 doesnt stating "absolutely" that he see's Happ back in the rotation undermine the confidence of the pitchers who have actually earned it?

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 doesnt stating "absolutely" that he see's Happ back in the rotation undermine the confidence of the pitchers who have actually earned it? He probably said the same thing about Romero when Happ took his job last year.
bzapple Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Ah, so Happ is "a great starter" now.
no soup for yu Verified Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 He probably said the same thing about Romero when Happ took his job last year.he probably did, but he could have said that to him privately why did he publicly state that he doesn't have faith in the current starting 5 to stay healthy or perform well enough to justify their spot?

Let's ask Alex Rios what he thinks?
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Maybe Happ has PTSD from getting beaned in the noggin. That would be a good excuse to keep him out a while.
