And he has accepted this , wow that is great news , Now we can keep him there for 125 day DL and 30 day rehab . If he isn't pitching well by then ,well it would be DFA time .

This is surprising, but good news. He was talking as though he was healthy after his last start, and I wouldn't have expected him to accept a DL stint.

This is more or less a buy us some time until we find out what to do with him or find a good hitman.

Maybe they told him it was the DL or to a never used part of the bullpen for the rest of his contract? lol

Well maybe he needed to find an excuse for his poor performance. No one should want any employer to think that's how they pitch when they are 100%.

Do you know what they call a Quarter Pounder With Cheese in Paris?

Awful news. The guy is healthy, his bad performance is due to their lack of talent; DFA, trade or send him to the minors. Jeffress is happy right now.

Well is IS good news in a way obviously

It means Happ won't be in the rotation and it frees up a 25 man roster spot (at least for now)

I'm not a Happ fan by any stretch, but the more SP options on the team, the better. Now we have a starting 5, plus Redmond, Rogers, and Happ still in the organization, plus guys like Stroman, Nolin, Jenkins, etc, in the minors. There is a reasonable amount of depth in there to avoid a 2013 redux, at least.

some highlights

“I see him getting healthy and being back in our rotation, absolutely,” Anthopoulos said.

“We think Happ’s a great starter. We think he’s got a chance to help our team.”

“No question, we have plans for Jay. He’s an important part of the team,” Anthopoulos said.

doesnt stating "absolutely" that he see's Happ back in the rotation undermine the confidence of the pitchers who have actually earned it?

He probably said the same thing about Romero when Happ took his job last year.

he probably did, but he could have said that to him privately

why did he publicly state that he doesn't have faith in the current starting 5 to stay healthy or perform well enough to justify their spot?

Let's ask Alex Rios what he thinks?
