This is what happens when you try and build a 25 man roster and not a 40 man. Good teams have provisions for things "not working out". It was obvious to some back at the start of the Marlins trade that part of what last season was about was selling tickets. He succeeded without any thought of long term. Well ticket sales are doing okay right now, surprises me but hey that's a bonus for AA. He better be over .500 this year though

how are season tickets going this year compared to last?

slow but still good by my unscientific means. Best I could do for the Saturday and Sunday was 3rd row in 505 (first three rows are reserved for ticket package holders)...that will mean 45K plus for the whole series. There wasn't a game all year where I could get front row section 524 (my favourite seats in the 500 level). Best seats I could get in the front row for the St. Louis series was 533 or 512 (turns out I'm in Vegas for that series anyway so that doesn't bother me). I was able to get near the infield for every game last year so that Cards series would indicate they are slightly ahead of last year or at least equal to with 500 level seats.

From reading posts the past few days (more like weeks). I am seeing so many people bashing AA thinking they have all the answers to making this team better... Since we clearly have a forum full of potential GM's I am curious to what you all would have done with this off season. Now remember people this is not fantasy baseball.

Your style of prose is unmistakable, MohYouDoggZee.

get your dick wet yet? Or are you still saving yourself for marriage?

Are you Howard Roark second account?

Dude everyone figured out it was me like a month ago. ;-)

Mods, what you wanna bet that derp and bigpaulie share the same IP? His sock-puppet army is slowly growing again.

Wow, AA apologists still exist?

No, but apparently Robert is still alive and kicking. Must be all the protein from all the bargain-basement wings his diet evidently consists of. Welfare is a harsh mistress, I guess. ;-)

But back on-topic. I want to despair the f*** outta both Beeston and AA.

Signed Jimenez/Garza/Kazmir and/or traded for Samardzija/Fister

Signed Infante/Ellis or trade for Franklin/Ackley/Espinosa (could still happen...maybe?)

There was plenty out there so I'm not going to bother narrowing it down to singular names.

Price would walk after this season. He is going to make stupid money on the open market. Edwin and Stroman for one year of Price. No thank you.

Price has two years of control.

Getting Fister for BP pieces+ would have been the move to make, unfortunately AA has evidently despaired Dombrowski enough times in the past that he enjoys f***ing with him now, and intentionally refuses to reach out to him when he wants to do a deal and matches up well with us, apparently. Still, hard to blame AA for another GM's abject stupidity, but my rage-boner is becoming increasingly indiscriminate with time.

I'd invent a time machine, go back in time and prevent your conception.

hard to believe there is still that big of a pull. we should tell JPA that letting him go is good for business I guess. lol

I doubt I'll be on that continent this year, so I'll have to stick with mlb.tv and hope they dont add more s*** that doesn't work this year.

I'd hire someone like Tony LaRussa as a consultant. He obviously has an eye for talent or squeezing as much talent out of a player as possible. He could recommend the sort of coaches this club could use at the minor or even major league level. None of the Jays coaches have accomplished anything anywhere and they could benefit from one of the the best managers in MLB history. LaRussa could help with the draft. So many areas.

Everything starts and begins with the proper brain trust. If you don't have that, the organization is nothing but a deck of cards (which this joke of an organization is).

God it's refreshing having mods who do s*** and a board where only the infrequent CHP post is the worst thing that happens, which isn't actually too bad.
