Brewers probably want Chris Stewart so they can hog all the framers.

as much as they've seemed to have a market there for quite a while, none of their other moves seem to point towards them having enough of a clue for this to be on purpose.

Nice deal for the Cards.

So aside form Jay and Bourjos, pretty much their entire team is locked up through 2017 or beyond.

Only matters to the Reds, Cubs, Pirates and Brewers.. whether St. Louis wins another World Series is another question.

As for a dynasty, it depends on how the top prospects of the Cubs develop.. that team, along with the Pirates, could be a threat to the Cardinals in the next few years.

great read , So my question is which team will be smart enough to hire the best Russian hacker ? hack the site and have some of the best info out there . Get it done and that would be huge advantage

Apparently the Mariners now want to deal for Viciedo. Someone needs to tell them that acquiring boatloads of players who can't play defense is NOT exploiting a market inefficiency!

Just for fun, assuming the Mariners were allowed to play four outfielders simultaneously, which OF records more outs:

A) Viciedo-Morrison-Saunders-Hart

B) Marte-McCutchen-Polanco

One of the boards' resident nerds should launch an investigation on the topic.

Haha. A) easily, but switch Saunders with Montero or Smoak and it might be close.

Kris Medlen exits while holding elbow.

Should be fine, he's got two doesn't he?

Welcome to the rotation Freddy Garcia!

Maybe they'll reach out to Ervin now. They don't have the greatest depth:

Minor

Teheran

Medlen - dead

Beachy - recovering TJS-aholic

Wood

Floyd - May

Hale

Garcia

JR Graham?

Be nice after Beeston leaves. Right now it's called "The Beest"

Law has a few articles up with Jays related content (and other interesting things). Not all of us saw the games, so some highlights from Law's notes:

He starts out drooling over Buxton. Seems to like what he saw from Hutch, but thinks his stuff isn't all the way back yet (although close). Slider wasn't sharp in the outing he saw, but was impressed with Hutch's delivery. Drabek was a disaster, throwing mid to upper 80's with no command and a sloppy curve. Lawrie over-rotating at the plate which is sapping his power. (Law also says something about Lawrie being poor defensively so he had better hit well, so his observations may be a little suspect)

Regarding Stroman, said there's no question about his ability to be a starter or his durability, only question is whether he can keep the ball down. Feels he may need to sacrifice some velocity to ensure a more consistent downhill plane, but if he can he'll be at least a legit mid-rotation guy.

was keith law one of the evalutors who originally said Lawrie wasn't a good defender at third?

What has Barry been doing. "Training, working out. I like working out better than talking to people."

Lind prefer "15 minutes workout"

Rickie Weeks killing it in spring so far... go get him AA?

Rumour has it the Yankees are watching him closely in case Brian Roberts limbs all fall off one day in ST.
