G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 TAKE THAT BTS!!! I actually can't remember if you were one of those who were panning Betemit earlier in the OS. Doesn't seem like a really 'Rays' move, but as a minor league deal this is a whole lot of who cares. Played 6 games in 2013 It's another throw s*** at wall move that may or may not pan out but no risk if cheap
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Yup, no harm in it. He had a great 2010 and has regressed from there. Its sort of 'un-Rays' because he is such a plug defensively.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 1 WAR (1.9 WAR pace) is great? with the bat. 141 wRC+. Like I said, he's a plug on the field.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 1 WAR (1.9 WAR pace) is great? and YEAH, that was a GRRRRRRREAT year if you're Wilson Betemit

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Dave Cameron thinks PECOTA is useless because it disagrees with his Nelson Cruz hatefest lol. Cruz has crossed from overrated to underrated this offseason. He's not a perfect player, but he is an average regular with a chance to be more than that.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #Angels offered Garza a four-year deal for about the same $50M he received from #Brewers around time of the winter.....Angels owner Arte Moreno “didn’t leave (offer) out there long,” one source said. Moreno typically requires quick decisions from FAs.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 O's signed Jomar Reyes and Carlos Diaz. Probably the two best international FA's left
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 This winter was extremely boring... Worst off season I've ever seen That one week was awesome and then nothing but Tanaka for 6-7 weeks. Boooo.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Dombrowski is an idiot for getting so little in trade and for Nats he's a steal at that salary.
Muck Bartinez Verified Member Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Dombrowski is an idiot for getting so little in trade and for Nats he's a steal at that salary. So stupid. There's no way us, the Angels, Pirates, etc. couldn't have beaten that offer. Something real strange about that deal.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 No way any other team couldn't have beat it. Yeah, I feel like literally every other team in the league could have beaten that, without putting too much thought into it.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Can you love him again? Hard to at 3.5M or whatever, but he might not be the worst option in the world as the 4th outfielder / pinch run specialist.

TBJ12 Verified Member Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I don't believe for a second that the Yankees want Burnett back.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Also reports Mariners and Orioles favourites for Cruz. Where the hell are the Mariners going to play him?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Where the hell are the Mariners going to play him? On a corner I suppose. Deal Smoak, LoMo at first and Hart at DH. Ackley as bench depth. Bury Montero behind the backfield during spring and hope no-one asks questions.
