BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Gose is a below replacement player. They are 0.5-2 win players. They are affordable. Can to venture a dollar value ? I will not make you pay it! Lol Also how little would Goins have to improve to equal this? Sad but I think I hold out more hope of Goins improving more then I ever see Gose doing!

kgm1 Verified Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Even if Lawrie stayed healthy all year an infield of EE at 1b KJ/RW 2nd, Reyes SS and Lawrie might be the worst defensively in baseball.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Even if Lawrie stayed healthy all year an infield of EE at 1b KJ/RW 2nd, Reyes SS and Lawrie might be the worst defensively in baseball. I could live with Bautista at third, lawrie at 2nd, EE at first and if I get just one wish Reyes is traded and I could live with Goins at ss! Please
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Moving Lawrie to 2B and overpaying Headley for one year would probably the best alternative (assuming Headley would take a one year deal to boost his value for next year). A one year deal for anything close to the QO would probably be worth it, but whether he would take it is another story.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I agree with chappy , I have resigned myself to seeing Izturis and Goins Honestly, with what's out there in the free agent market for 2B, and the club too scared to move Reyes off short, they might as well play Izturis at 2B rather than spend what little money they have on a 1 WAR player to fill that spot. They are paying Izturis $4M regardless. They need a real upgrade at 2B or 3B. If it's Kelly Johnson or Rickie Weeks, then just stick with Maicer and spend the money elsewhere. The difference would be minor at best.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Seitzer is now hitting coach of the Braves, apparently. Karma for Mottola?

TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Cubs '15 WS Champions Cubs will be in the playoffs before the Blue Jays. Book it.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 impossible not to like what the Cubs are doing.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Anyone else going into hibernation for the duration of the baseball offseason? No. I am a Blue Jays fan. This is the real season for me. April-Sept is just an exercise in determining what the team needs to do during this time.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I need to get a Cubs hat. I've been considering it for years but it's time. It'll feel so weird wearing a non-Blue Jays / Canada baseball hat lol.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 What the f*** Twins? Whoever threw that pitch was DFA'd before it hit the catcher's mitt... That's not how they roll in them parts...
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Whoever threw that pitch was DFA'd before it hit the catcher's mitt... That's not how they roll in them parts... Rick Anderson does not approve of strikeouts.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Very likely Cubbies need a few veterins to lead the way, and more young talent then they have room for.... perfect trading partner for the Jays

TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Cubbies need a few veterins to lead the way, and more young talent then they have room for.... perfect trading partner for the Jays Cubs have young vets in Rizzo and Castro, which is a good start. I think what they'll do now is sign a couple of big name free agents over the next couple years, Lester, etc. to help move along the rebuilding process. They'll do what the Jays shouldve done in 2011, signing Reyes and Buehrle (or something similar) for nothing but money, instead of waiting a year, and trading our top prospects for those guys in hopes of moving along our process.

itaos Verified Member Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Can the Jays give the Angels the pitching they want for Kendrick without overpaying?
kgm1 Verified Member Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Happ please They aren't trading straight up for Happ. they want young controllable pitchers.
