Drew Butera is pitching for the Dodgers for the 2nd time in a week.. maybe they should convert him to a reliever full time. It's better than his inability to hit as a catcher.

Compare his home vs. away stats for even more amazement.

lol @ Jerry Lane throwing out Kazmir in the second inning for arguing a ball that was right down the middle

Agree, Umps have too big of egos. The game isn't about them.

To be fair.. it was King and Ang at the game.

They should just do away with the umps, hire 40 new guys. Or at the very least Jerry Layne and that black guy who puffs his chest out and goes berserk on anyone who questions him, his name escapes me at the moment.

It could be a sign that Jackie Bradley Jr. is not impressing the Red Sox brass, and the Sox are looking for a spark, possibly from Mookie Betts, as their season is spiraling downward.

Bradley Jr. is hitting .200/.301/.296 with a 16/42 BB/K ratio, and a K-rate of 33.6%. If Boston had better options, Bradley would be in AAA right now. Unfortunately, none of Nava, Brentz, or Hassan are impressing. Betts in CF is a sign Boston will be calling him up soon because of their continued struggles in the OF in both AAA and the majors.

Congrats to him, has he ever played the outfield?

He wasn't promoted to the Red Sox, he's just making his first MiLB start in CF.

After reading Angs post, I thought he was promoted for about 10 minutes too.

Debut as a CF, not MLB debut.

Your grammar is very bad, learn to read perras!!

TB's front office must be pretty despaired about this. With a trade looming, this isn't the time for poor ERA luck.

Meh, I'm sure there'll be a sabr-ish team that likes him enough to look at the xFIP but not enough to look at the pitch level stuff.

Schuman: "Nobody's done more offensively than Miguel Cabrera over the past two seasons and that's the understatement of the night."

Mike Trout has more Offensive Runs than Cabrera in that span :P

He could just be treating baserunning as a separate category, as Miggy has been quite a bit better with the bat over the past two years.

Baserunning counts as "offensive" though. Of course it does.

But Miggy really hasn't been much better with the bat anyway: It's a 178-171 wRC+ differential.
