AngryBird Verified Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Kyle Drabek = bust Yep, pretty embarrassing he was the main piece in the Halladay trade. That was an unbelievably laughable deal for our organization.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Yep, pretty embarrassing he was the main piece in the Halladay trade. That was an unbelievably laughable deal for our organization. Out of all the of the bad deal that Anthopoulos has made, this is not one of them.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Out of all the of the bad deal that Anthopoulos has made, this is not one of them. This. He got a nice package considering the little leverage he had. Sometimes prospects don't work out, wasn't a bad deal though.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 This. He got a nice package considering the little leverage he had. Sometimes prospects don't work out, wasn't a bad deal though. People love to be the hindsight masters, but they forget that out of that deal we got a highly touted pitching prospect, a decent catching prospect (can't comment well as I don't remember how good d'Arnaud was projected to be) and the third player was then flipped for a toolsy OF with good potential (and no I'm not skipping Walrus but he would lead to Gose so...).
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Anyone else baffled that Brian Dozier from the Twins has 10 Homeruns in 160 AB and 30 BB!!!! 12 Stolen bases too....What in the World?! The walk rate is insane. Outside chance at a 25/25 season as well
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Yep, pretty embarrassing he was the main piece in the Halladay trade. That was an unbelievably laughable deal for our organization. Halladay forced their hands to be honest, he wanted to go to Philly or Boston I think
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Yep, pretty embarrassing he was the main piece in the Halladay trade. That was an unbelievably laughable deal for our organization. Given the circumstances at the time of the deal, it was a decent trade. Had the Jays kept D'Arnaud, they would've gotten their starting catcher + Gose. As it is, they have a #3 starter and Gose to show for it although Dickey was acquired for "a little" more than just D'Arnaud. I don't think even AA's harshest critics would agree with you, but who knows. Maybe you could provide us with better offers that AA turned down at the time from teams that Halladay was willing to sign an extension with.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Pretty much. Keep in mind we go R.A. Dickey eventually when d'Arnaud was traded to the Mets, and yes I know we shouldn't have dealt Syndegaard.. however, d'Arnaud has struggled badly with the Mets, and is now hurt again with a concussion. d'Arnaud has a -0.5 WAR.. almost as bad as JPA, and has been outplayed by backup Anthony Recker and possibly even AAA callup Juan Centeno. As for Noah Syndergaard, his numbers have been mixed in AAA. However, he has an above average FIP of 3.70. How that translated to MLB is uncertain.. but he'll likely be called up soon once the Super Two deadline passes, since Montero and deGrom are already up.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Danny Duffy perfect through 6. Only one strike out, 47% GB, oh boy...
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Boston struggling vs. Detroit again as Miggy Cabrera is hitting them hard again.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Duffy goes well....Kershaw getting f***ed up by the D-Backs. It's Bizarro pitching world.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 34 strikeouts in 18 innings this year for Wade Davis. Him and Holland to close out games are absolutely filthy. 3rd best cutter in baseball among RP
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Kenley Jansen and ? 1-Casey Fien 2-Tyler Clippard 3-Wade Davis Holland 27 pitches save (bases loaded - K's Nelly)

He had to strike out Adam Jones twice lol. Mark Melancon has a better cutter than Davis too.

Dude has been worth 0.7 WAR in 15 innings lol.

I think there's some deception in the delivery too.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Tulo back over .400 (.403)! 3-3 tonight with a dinger.
