G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Jeff Francour has been cut by the Indians. Career over??
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I'm sure he'll sign on somewhere to play in Triple A. But yes, his days of being an everyday player at the MLB level are over, and you could have argued that they were over a couple of years ago.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 3 seasons below -1.0 WAR lol I countered your BBDL offer.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Jeff Francour has been cut by the Indians. Career over?? I actually wouldn't mind Frenchy on the bench and platoon bat with Lind. His slash line against lefties for his career isn't bad .285/.335/.465 I'd prefer Frenchy over Sierra that's for sure. But yeah, not that crazy about him. Would have rather had Ruggiano - missed opportunity.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I wonder what NJH's platoon regressions say about Frenchy's splits.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I wonder what NJH's platoon regressions say about Frenchy's splits. Yeah, I'd be interested to know. I'm not campaigning for the Jays to go out and sign Frenchy lol though I just quickly looked at his career splits and he has a career .800 OPS against lefties.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Definitely NOT a better option that Sierra lol. Projected for a 76 wRC+. He has a career 105 wRC+ against lefties. Nothing special obviously. Sierra is only project for like 84 wRC+ anyways.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Francouer regressed platoon split plopped onto his .280 Steamer projection = .287 wOBA vs LHP .264 wOBA vs. RHP Sierra = .306 vs. LHP .287 vs. RHP Justin Ruggiano = .339 vs. LHP .314 vs. RHP Career +3.8 UZR/150 in the OF (298 games). Career -1.7 UZR/150 in CF (148 games). Shark + Barney + Ruggiano plz.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Sorry DH. Had to mercy kill your Francouer thread.
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Sorry moderator disagree with you. This thread is a mess and I wanted to discuss our teams 4th outfielder possibilities not the crap in this thread.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Sorry moderator disagree with you. This thread is a mess and I wanted to discuss our teams 4th outfielder possibilities not the crap in this thread. Which is all better than Jeff f***ing Francouer.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Regressed splits put him around .082% split. Edit: NJH to rescue. But NJH, Sierra's wOBA is projected in RC. Need to use wRC+. Right. If I did it correctly that comes out to 86.11/80.09 projected for Sierra; 108.66/98.30 for Ruggiano. (wRC+, LHP/RHP) Manipulating wRC+ changes things though. Example Ruggiano's 127/92 split (35) = 33.3% of his career wRC+ (105) Ruggiano's .360/.309 wOBA split (.051) = 15.6% of his career wOBA (.327) I KNOW / strongly feel that I'm not manipulating wRC+ correctly here.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 How about Jose Tabata or Mayberry? Both are rumoured to be available
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 How about Jose Tabata or Mayberry? Both are rumoured to be available Amaro Jr is aparently desperate for a starter and can't find one Mayberry for Happ f***ing DO IT We can eat 1/3 of Happ's salary for 2014 Do it do it do it f'n do it
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Should've been Santos for Gentry. Well sure, but I mean either Mayberry or Tabata for DH instead of Sierra with your wOBA or wRC+ projections
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Ruggiano was the answer! I'd like Mayberry or Tabata however as well if they could be had for JA Happ.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Tabata > Mayberry > Sierra > T I wonder what Tabata would cost, at least has some tools to work with, no non-regressed platoon splits to speak of really. Not a great defender in the OF though

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OMG!!!! That's f***ing hilarious. Epic phail if I ever saw one.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OMG!!!! That's f***ing hilarious. Epic phail if I ever saw one. Holy s*** that's bad. Why did they trade Justin Upton again?? (how is the return, outside of Prado, looking?) And why did they trade for a DH when they needed an OF??

Now they're reportedly looking to trade Gregorius for SP help after getting him in exchange for a young SP. They're going round n' round.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Stephen Drew's agent Scott Boras told Gammons Daily's Peter Gammons that Drew has a three-year, $39 million offer on the table. If that were true, it wouldn't be on the table long. Drew has garnered some attention lately in the wake of the news that Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias would miss most of 2014, so Boras may just be trying to get his client some leverage in negotiations. Drew and the Tigers seem to be a match, so something may happen soon. Mar 22 - 4:31 PM Source: Peter Gammons on Twitter Boras using Gammons to drum up interest? That's not a bad offer, is it? IF true, of course.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Boras using Gammons to drum up interest? That's not a bad offer, is it? IF true, of course. Great offer at his age/talent level Don't know if I believe it If it's real he should take it for sure. Unless of course it's from a a team he really doesn't want to play for.

The ball spins in reverse in Australia, it can be very confusing. Only thing that would have made this better is if he got hurt climbing the fence.
