L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Neither do I. I guess they could always flip him, or one of their OF's for prospects. Seems like a Rays move to me.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I am certain that AA is one of them
Jays Verified Member Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I am certain that AA is one of them I get the feeling he isn't. He is probably looking for established, vetrins to fill out the holes.

Jays Verified Member Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I look forward to the Jamey Carroll era. I can just see us missing the playoffs by a few games while going into the season with obvious black holes on the 25 man.

admin Site Manager Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I can predict the future. Mariners dump one of their infielders for a D prospect. AA goes on the radio to say he talked to Seattle about their infielders but we just weren't a match...
Jays Verified Member Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Haha.....f***, Nick Franklin would be sweet. I'm guessing Alex is looking at Infante(likely a Yank), Ellis, Espinosa hopefully. Maybe we can get Thames back, to play 2B... anyone remember that?

Haven't a lot of people here played fantasy baseball? I'm sure this has happened to most active fantasy players. Where there have been times where they felt their team legitimately lined up well with another, really wanted a player and tried to make fair offers, only for the owner not to bite, then soon after trade that player for what you'd consider a worse package. You can say it's just fantasy, but there are definitely GMs a lot dumber than a lot of the guys I played fantasy baseball with. AA is one of the GOOD gms in the game. I really have no doubt about that. There is really zero predicting what players the GM of Seattle would be interested in.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I have no idea what's going on here. The M's only really have depth at one position and they sign someone to fill that position, displacing all of their depth to either other positions, the minors, or to some other team. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh This is similar to the Marlins signing Jose Reyes when they already had Hanley Ramirez. When you're a bottom feeder looking to make a big splash, you sign big names regardless of positions. It's not going to work anyways so what's the difference. Big splash is big splash.

I get that, and I am by no means an armchair GM, but stuff like this makes me think that I could do a better job at constructing a roster than JackieZ.

A lot of the stuff that's been coming out in Seattle lately seems to suggest that Jack Z. is basically a fraud.

Yeah, I've been reading that. I find it amusing that from what I read JackieZ seems like an arrogant d-bag. The best business people aren't the smartest people, they are the ones that know that there are people smarter than them, and you get those people to surround you. You're just the one that puts it all together.
