From what I have googled, guys like Griffin and Lott just shrugged their shoulders and said "it was generally expected that at least one coach would be fired". Anyway, it's a clown show, how the owners can allow this to go on is nuts.

It's also interesting that Farrell wanted Mottola as associate hitting coach. Anyway, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Haha, I suspect they were pushing for the big trades last offseason just to sell tickets. We'll see next year with attendance down and an expensive and old team.

You guys shouldn't be down or angry. The best thing for this franchise is for AA to make as many stupid decisions as possible so that someone upstairs will bother to reevaluate the guy that they allow to spend their cash. A step in the right direction!!

only thing I am worried about is AA and Beeston tanking the team so bad that Rogers opts to sell and the team relocates.

LOL i don't think AA could possibly f*** it up that badly. there are plenty of teams before the jays that should relocate

Oh please. The team isn't going anywhere, no matter how bad things get. 3rd largest market in MLB, bitchez.

It may very well be that they aren't done cleaning house. AA may in fact be in serious trouble, his waffling on decisions like dropping Arencebia, no QO for Josh Johnson, and dropping/demoting Gibbons are not confidence building ( they aren't hard decisions ), and executives are a lot smarter people then they are portrayed on this site lately. Look, if Burke could get fired, and he actually made some good moves for the Leafs ( except the Kessel trade which some even don't mind anymore ), AA could be dropped in a heart beat once his performance gets reviewed. Or he could be put on notice to be decisive. Maybe he's already got some big moves coming which save his job.

Speaking of the Leafs, this site should be all over the moves that organization has made the last 4-5 years. They have gone from having one of the weakest rosters value wise ( a lot of veterans, some of whom had very bad contracts ) to the opposite, a really well put together roster with plenty of young talent and decently structured contracts. Farm seems good; player development seems decent. Despite one bad move, even Burke looks decent now in retrospect, and Nonis so far seems really on the ball.

I know its hockey but Leafs are in a good place concerning the salary cap and their future teams.

My opinion, the Jays will make some big moves. AA will either make them or he'll be the first big move the Jays make getting fired. Somethings imminent I'm sure and its under wraps for now.

Pitching has been a mess since Arnsberg left and Walker took over. Mottola seemed to do just fine, so there must be something behind the scenes.

It's going to be funny when Lawrie and Rasmus are worse than this year and JPA is kept around to work with the new hitting coach to get back to his 700-720 OPS dynamic bat that's such an asset to this team.

Makes no f***ing sense. Luis Rivera absolutely should have been fired. Pete Walker should have got fired, and Demarlo Hale was brought in as AA's personal choice for a bench coach for some f***ing reason. I have a feeling when Gibbons ends up getting hes the guy they will make the manager. Chad Motolla is the only guy who did a good job this season. As others mentioned progress with Gose and Lawrie. Rasmus is turning into a beast, and the offense overal was pretty good until they all went on the DL. I feel they need to explain this one. Perhaps they want more patient approach overall. I really felt our players took more pitches over last season though. A lot better at-bats if you exclude Arencibia.

Some of the fundamentals (like bunting) were horrid as well, but I would have kept CM unless there's something we don't know about. As I said before, maybe he didn't get along with Gibbons. If Cito takes over as hitting coach, we had better sell high on all our left handed bats immediately.

I don't understand this move at all, iv'e heard mottolas hitting philosophys and I like them. It always seems like there's so much internal drama with this organization whether its at the top, coaching staff, or the players sayying stupid things. Can't they just leave there egos at the door and get on the same page.

I wish we hadn't lost Butterfield

Losing him may have actually been the biggest loss in the Farrell fiasco

I wholeheartedly agree with this, it should be butter in there, not gibbons.

I am searching for a reason to come back to this team, and it is thin. I simply can not justify(even if I was a homer) that there could be any way jp is back in any other capacity other than catching depth. I guess they can try to say it was injury, but this is not the first year he has sucked. If your team is close to competing, why are they burning specialty coches. Gibbons does f***all on the bench every single night. Watch one game with Maddon, and you will see someone up on the rail, watching every play with his lineup cards in hand. He is a tactician. Gibbons sits his ass in the corner and hopes rainbows come out of the sky to blind the other team. IMO this team IS close to competing, a few tweaks, and few pieces, and someone at the reigns who can direct them.

Yeah this team isn't relocating. They couldn't move it to a place that's better than where they are now.

I'll preface this by saying that I never read Jays content from the media that isn't posted here, but I really don't recall ever seeing/hearing AA be asked a tough question about a questionable move. Has anyone in the media ever grilled him?

This is a good point. I am sure somebody has grilled him. They had to of?? I think? I hope?

But remember how badly Cito got grilled?? Up to Wilnergate?? Remember how badly Ricciardi got grilled?? Dang... he got grilled winning 87 games cause the boys got on base to much. Toronto Star "If jays didn't do moneyball and weren't so white they'd be in the playoffs!" (no that's not a real headline, but sadly it's close to reality).

It makes absolutely no sense. I guess he's a golden boy, fat, pudgy, soft, politician type, good schmoozer. A different breed then Cito (who I hate) and Riccardi (who I liked). They're jocks.

So the writers are fat and pudgy, sort of the same soft types, and have these dream jobs that they never want to lose. They're good at recognizing the power brokers. Never cross the Beest. AA will be president some day so don't insult his pudgy ass, he's very well connected and could make your dreams for your blog come true, he can make sure you keep your sweet, easy, dream job for life.

I don't agree with the slagging of Gibbons part of your post. I like Gibbons. But I agree that Butter also would of been a good choice.

(this was in reply to someone who said Gibbons sucks and the loss of Butters was huge... I agree with the Butters part...)

3rd largest population market, correct?

It's a shame the fans and owners don't act like it.

It's amazing how not having overpaid name players on a bloated payroll like the past isn't needed for Leaf fans to be happy. Why is it the Jays Front Office and fans feel they need to tread down that path?

?????

Bunting isn't learned over the course of one year. It's a craft learned prior to being a pro' and needs to be constantly worked on and refined into pro' ball. And trying to teach a bunch of vets who were never taught to bunt, isn't gonna go over well.

What team(s) do you plan on following?

You ever watch an Angels game? Scioscia's always been at the rail as well. Long ago was considered one of the leagues best managers. Now, either gone stale or just not liked even close to what he was.

Brooklyn.

More media love/exposure, more money, better location, better fans.

Im pretty sure Tampa and Miami are first and second on the list of teams to be relocated.
