Last 6 years there has only been 5 different teams in the AFC championship game. People complain about parity in the NBA but I think the NFL is the worst. Same 4 or 5 teams every year.

Anyone going to a Superbowl Party!

Nope, I'm done with casual Superbowl parties. I can't stand them. Went a couple of a years ago to a friends place for a Super Bowl party and it was such a wanker fest. His girlfriend, her friends, and couples were all there and they knew nothing about football at all. They literally never even watched the game, they were just talking about work, shopping etc. around the TV which was annoying. I find Super Bowl parties are just an excuse for a social gathering amongst friends and co-workers.

I usually just have 2-3 of my good buddies and my cousin come over to watch the game. Bought 5 boxes of wings (PC has a special - $9.99), will order pizza, got some stuff to put on the BBQ, a lot of craft beer, nachos etc. Also, have a fire pit outside :) So good to go!

Nah... not one of those wanker parties, lol. 100 people 100 bucks a head, all you can eat wings and alcohol from 5:30 to half an hour/last call after the end of the game. A grand awarded at half-time... 9 G's to a winner at the final... Winner pays the tab... 3 to 4 grand, so I've heard. I'm going to kill that 100 bucks by the end of the 1st quarter, lol. Not a bad gig.

Yeah I've gone to those types of SuperBowl parties up in Woodbridge back when in university. Went a couple of years in a row. One of my friends' dad knew a guy that set them up, so we'd book an entire table like 8-10 of us with a bunch of friends. Tickets were $90-100 each and like you said open bar/decent Italian food & wings. They were a lot of fun. Only downside was that we needed a ride there and back afterwards (Uber didn't exist) and pretty much it was a sausage fest lol.

They really half-assed the rule change and so one of the greatest games in SB history ends on a fart.

I find that nearly every NFL game teeters pretty close to being completely unwatchable. The amount of time between plays and the number of commercials is just torture. The best winning strategy is almost always to kill the clock while you have the lead (ie: not play the game for as long as the rules allow). At least in hockey the team not in possession of the puck can actively try to take it from the team killing time. NFL football is straight up built to be a vehicle for advertisements. It sucks because the actual game is really cool.

I enjoy sports where breaks in the action might be an opportunity for a sideline report, an interview or some analysis rather than an immediate cut to ten minutes of commercials.
