Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Man, the trade deadline has been bad every year AA has been here. Escobar, Rasmus, Delabar. Your point is invalid.
Caper Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 This trade deadline (so far) has been a huge waste of my day. Awesome You would still be here... your post count would be the same.
Nox Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The bullpen this year looks like a beauty queen, the next year may look like a $ 20 whore. Ang rising up my favourite poster list. Pronto usted podría ser un Darrell.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Escobar, Rasmus, Delabar. Your point is invalid. Don't forget the Mega Trade with Houston
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 This trade deadline (so far) has been a huge waste of my day. Awesome I thought your on here at least 12 hrs a day. This place is like your job to find us Jays info on the net.
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Escobar, Rasmus, Delabar. Your point is invalid. Those weren't at the deadline
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 AA just trade a Reliever.. anybody even the bullpen catcher. Anybody!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Ang rising up my favourite poster list. Pronto usted podría ser un Darrell. What is the meaning of "Darrell"? Muy buen espanol. Rosetta Stone?
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Even Hoes gets some action today! Wtf!
Ehh Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 How do you know what we are going to get back? We are going to have way too many relievers come the 2nd half of the season, and we might be able to part with some of our relievers to help us in a position of need Oliver is retiring at the end of the season, there is NO reason to keep him See:Jesse Crain Scott Down Not hard to see the market is terrible
KSaw Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Keep in mind that players like Oliver, Bonifacio or Lincoln would have no trouble clearing waivers and can still be traded.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I really don't see the trade value in Oliver right now, doubt any team would give more than an org guy. If he's not dealt it could very easily be because there's no market for him. Honestly, we may get more for Oliver hanging on to him and trading him in late August. Some contender is bound to be pretty desperate by then, and non contenders are unlikely to claim him.
KSaw Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Oliver is taking innings from somebody like Stilson who could get his feet wet in the majors. Oliver is retiring we don't need him. Who cares about the return. Take a flyer on somebody who knows what you might get. Nobody is expecting a great return. Putting Stilson on the 40-man roster when he wouldn't be rule 5 in the offseason would be really poor asset management.
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Breaking news: AA traded his Honey Dip donut for Boston Cream donut.
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Putting Stilson on the 40-man roster when he wouldn't be rule 5 in the offseason would be really poor asset management. We're great at poor asset management
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 That return for Norris seems pretty light too, not that I would really want him.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Asset management...This isn't Oakland. We aren't small market. That is ridiculous.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 7 minutes 5 minutes get a watch that works
KSaw Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I expect DeRosa will be moved in a week or three as well. He'll easily clear waivers and really is a good character guy to have on a playoff team, even if he isn't activated. Also multi position insurance in case of an injury.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Asset management...This isn't Oakland. We aren't small market. Wut.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 So you don't want to trade vet relievers having great seasons for prospects when we have a whole host of young relievers ready to come up and do a similar job? I have no problem trading Oliver. What's ridiculous is your take on asset management.

KSaw Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Asset management...This isn't Oakland. We aren't small market. So you throw away players because there's no 40-man roster room for them? And so you can call up a player you want long term but who won't be on the team next year? Oh ya, and you waste an option on him as well when he gets sent down in April.

theblujay Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Hahaha this org is a mess. Well at least we have our relievers for the stretch
