fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 What do you guys think? Is this good for the game? Personally I would like to see him not earn the rest of the money on the contract and that he gets hit with a season suspension then is free to sign with any team But on the same note, I don't want the Yankees to get the owed money nulled, because then Cano will be a Yankee lol
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I sincerely hope they're not going to hold him to a higher standard than other players just because he's so high profile. If he faces a lifetime ban, anyone else on that list should face the same penalty.
Nox Verified Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 So I guess they're just making it up as they go along now.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Also, can it be a lifetime ban with pay, just so it f***s over the Yankees?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Also, can it be a lifetime ban with pay, just so it f***s over the Yankees? Exactly! I wouldn't mind that at all!

flafson Verified Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 If they ban him for life it's going to send a very harsh message, that's for sure.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Assuming he's not also on the list! Hahaha true!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Cashman and the 'Breiner are so happy right now
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Dammit the Yankees angle makes this a catch-22. I hate A-Rod and outlawing him forever would send the perfect message. But that would also open the Yankees up tremendously. Maybe a report comes out that the Yankees knew of this and didn't report it so they have to also be punished by paying the money? They could ban him from the MLB and keep him in the MiLB with his ugly contract
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Lifetime ban means two years minimum and then a committee will decide whether to activate
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Selig would suck the Yankees' cock. God dammit.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Looks like a wink wink between MLB and the Yankees.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 No, I don't believe there is such a reporting process and there's no way to reprimand teams. The minor leagues idea would be funny since he might get bored and end up retiring anyway. I'd do that lol even if it means A-Rod gets money. f*** it I just don't like the yankees making $$$
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Looks like a wink wink between MLB and the Yankees. Once again it says "IF" they can't come to a deal. I think A-Rod has to say yes to any deal for the $$$ or else the contract is voided. I'm guessing the 'deal' is that he's suspended from now until August 2014
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 If they ban him for life it's going to send a very harsh message, that's for sure. Or a very conflicting message
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I think its rediculous that players are making "deals". If you are guilty get suspended and shut up like everyone else. Do you don't try to negotiate with the whores before going on a date with her?
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I think its rediculous that players are making "deals". If you are guilty get suspended and shut up like everyone else. There's a problem though. MLB wants to suspend these guys without positive tests. They don't have the tests, but they do have a mountain of convincing evidence and witnesses to bring out. I'm not sure what the language is in the CBA, but it's probably hard for MLB to suspend a player without a positive test, which is why they are trying to get the players to agree to a suspension in light of everything else that they can hang on them. But that begs the question of, on what ground would MLB be able to suspend ARod for life? If they can't just justifiably slap a suspension on him for the Biogenesis stuff, because of the current CBA language, then how could they justifiably slap a lifetime ban on him? It all seems kind of weird. Seems kind of like a purposely leaked bluff by Major League Baseball. If I'm ARod, I'm saying "fine, you got me, give me my 50 games and we'll settle this issue".
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 You don't need to take whores on dates. You just invite them over and f*** them. lol You must agree on financial terms with her and about the sexual positions.

No one cares about the no-names who juiced. This is not good for the game at all, to cast out one of the greatest to ever play the sport and a guy who was pretty much the face of the league in the 2000s.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Looks like a wink wink between MLB and the Yankees. Would A-Rod not have grounds to sue?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Don't let the yankees out of their own stupidity, f***ing idiots deserve each other
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Would A-Rod not have grounds to sue? Sure but he would need to prove it. This whole thing is a gigantic gong show.

FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 The only reason the MLB is considering this is to get the Yankees out of that deal. Probably colluded with their favorite team to come up with this.
