If the Blue Jays sign them, they'll probably be busts anyway.

At this point I think its the Blue Jays way to get lit up like a Christmas tree no matter who you are.

Relax guys

Yes, AA has made some poor moves

But he is NOT going to trade a major asset for half a season of Garza. Absolutely no way.

I'm going to give AA the benefit of the doubt and say he's not stupid enough to trade for Garza in a situation like this.

I'm gonna chalk up this article as bad journalism stemming from Heyman's no evidence account that the Jays are

front runners because he saw a known Jays scout at a Cubs game.

or 3-way deal

OK, that I can believe. That's logical.

DBacks get Garza and Janssen

Jays get Matt Davison, Junior Lake and David Holmberg

Cubs get Nolin, Skaggs and Dbacks C prospect

Cubs had a scout at Jays minor league game. And it was a fan who pointed out the scout

If that's the case, that's even worse.

But this is what I got from another article, actually authored by Bruce Levine of ESPN.

"Texas and Toronto were the main suitors for Garza in July 2012 before he injured his elbow and missed the rest of the season. The two clubs have had numerous evaluators watching Garza over his past three starts."

Personally, id love Garza on the Jays and I want to think that the price tag wont be as high as some people think...He has been injured for quite some time and he's a pending FA. Everyone assumes Sanchez, but i think they can possibly manuever their way out of that. AA has really seemed to be pumping Kevin Pillar's tires on air and in interviews lately. He might just be trying to sell him to another team by doing so.

IMO, i think a package of Pillar and Nolin gets the conversation going with perhaps the kicker of a Jiminez...even to me i think that is too much

The team could also get creative as well...perhaps trading Casey to a team in need of back end bullpen help like the Tigers or Dodgers. Perhaps an Asvali Garcia or Joc Pederson for Janssen and then flipping the prospect to Chicago for Garza

I'd be excited about a Garza trade...gives us a head start over other teams in trying to get an extension done aswell

I really think 2014 can be a playoff team if they make the right adjustments on offense and perhaps a nice little signing on the pitching FA market...Hutchinson should be a nice boost and Stroman aint looking to bad either...If you could have Dickey and Garza to work with to start then they might be in good shape

Yeah this legitimizes the possibility of a deal more than anything else we've heard.

We should start a rumor.

Let's send Hurl to a Buffalo game. Dress him up in Marlins apparrel, give him a clipboard.

Wait for fans to strike up conversation.

"Well I'm not supposed to say anything, so make sure you guys don't tell anyone. But we're about to send over Stanton and Fernandez in a massive deal. The deal is 99% complete, I just came over to catch one more game from Pillar."

Cubs Designate Henry Rodriguez For Assignment

by Edward Creech, Jul 14 at 3:51 PM CST

The Cubs have designated right-hander Henry Rodriguez for assignment, tweets MLB.com's Carrie Muskat. The move clears a roster spot for outfielder Cole Gillespie, who was claimed on waivers from the Giants yesterday, tweets Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald.

This is the second time in six weeks Rodriguez has been designated for assigment. The Cubs acquired the 26-year-old on June 11 after the Nationals removed him from their roster.

3-way would make sense as long as the Blue Jays are giving up relievers and are addressing 2b/3b or C in the deal. If they could get a young starter that's almost ready, then great. Garza is a FA to be, I don't see why he'd sign an extension now instead of possibly having teams bid for his services without having to give up young assets to get him.

38 year old who struggled for years. Garza has been a good pitcher for a bit and has 2+ months to go before FA. I don't think it's the same situation, but regardless, all indications are that Garza wants to test FA.

It's interesting that Chris Davis was traded by the Rangers along with Tommy Hunter to the O's for Koji Uehara. This is exactly the sort of trade AA should be looking to make and he has more than one reliever to trade so let's hope he sees that even with a good bullpen, his team sucks.

And it was done on July 30th so there was probably some desperation on the Rangers part in 2011. Let's hope AA finds a team in a similar situation...or 2!
