glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 I think you write this one off and regroup next year when you're back in Toronto. The question is do you trade Lowry and retool with a core of Siakam, FVV, OG, a lottery pick + a TON of cap space with supplemental guys like Norm, Boucher, Flynn, Davis, etc. I think they'll trade Lowry. I'm sure he wants to at least contend for another title during whatever is left of his good years, and the Raptors made a significant investment in FVV as the PG so at some point they'll have to give him the keys. The Lowry/FVV backcourt was fine for a year, but they need a legit starting SG. The perfect scenario would have been Lowry finishing his career in Toronto and the cap space next season used on a superstar, but Giannis isn't coming and Kawhi wouldn't stay on a much better Raptors team a year and a half ago, so there's really no point in keeping Kyle aside from sentimental reasons. And like I said I don't think he'd want to stay on a team that looks like it's headed for the lottery this season.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Wow. Nets got Harden w/o losing crybaby drama queen Kylie. Going to be pretty sick if they’re actually on the court together come playoff time

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Depends if you like VO I guess- I do. Forced trade basically so tough to judge the haul. Rockets: Victor Oladipo, Dante Exum, Rodions Kurucs, 3 BKN first-rounders (22, 24, 26), 1 MIL first (22, unprotected), 4 BKN 1st round swaps (21, 23, 25, 27)
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 I can't think of a more unlikable team in pro sports than the Nets. KD, Irving, and Harden. The NBA got what they love, a villain super team, so I'm sure they are happy.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 What's the deal with Irving, he gets Durant to play with him and bails, guy's an *******? Biggest d-bag is sports I think. Out for personal time but on videos partying and going on zoom calls like there’s no issue. Players have family die and don’t walk away like that
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 They should trade his crybaby ass for Lowry and draft picks/one of the decent young guys you have
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 They should trade his crybaby ass for Lowry and draft picks/one of the decent young guys you have Why would Toronto want a guy like that?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Why would Toronto want a guy like that? Well acquiring 2nd biggest drama queen worked out extremely well for you
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Well acquiring 2nd biggest drama queen worked out extremely well for you Kawhi's a fun guy?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 What a massive deal. Kyrie is f***ing insane. Incredibly stupid.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Kawhi's a fun guy? SA exit was a circus and then his FA by all accounts was sketchy because of the people he surrounds himself with. That and the whole load management thing that he essentially created warrant the title I gave him

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 I didn’t detect any sarcasm there. My bad is there was I guess you're not aware of the Kawhi's a fun guy and that laugh at the presser, very well known here.

No, I didn’t know what you meant. So went over my head. Anyways, at this point Tor should either make a splash or blow it up.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Raptors can't close so far, they've blown like 5 games this season with double digit leads in the 4th. Could any of that be put on some sort of bad luck variance? IDK. It's still early and they legit could have 6 W's at least.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 I saw a couple of hypothetical trades the Raps could make Powell + 2021 2nd for Marvin Bagley McCaw + two 2nd's for Zach Collins I like both these options to improve the front court.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Wonder what JV would cost to reacquire?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Harden story can be a how-to-guide for Watson in the NFL. Just openly trash your team. That’s what Harden did and they didn’t allow him to practice with the team and he was dealt the next day after the comments. They must’ve been sitting on the deal as it’s unlikely it came together in a matter of hours

Hard pass on Marvin Bagley. He's awful and his dad is a headcase ala Lavar Ball. Zach Collins would be neat but he's been injured for like 2 seasons now, I'm not even sure when he would play for us.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 FFS Baynes. Grab the ball with two hands. Stop trying to tip it everywhere.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 Zion is like a wrecking ball on the floor. Someone is getting hurt, and it's 50/50 whether it's him or the other guy.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 FFS Baynes. Grab the ball with two hands. Stop trying to tip it everywhere. I forgot to mention, Raps tried to blow that game as well.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Real scoring clinic going on here to start the game.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Real talk, Chris Boucher might actually be better than Siakam.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Real talk, Chris Boucher might actually be better than Siakam. I don't think so at this point in time, but I think they complement each other very well.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Real talk, Chris Boucher might actually be better than Siakam. He's the only reason to tune in right now...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Hate to say it, but Siakam is a real beta. He plateaued, got predictable, got gameplanned to hell, and now his confidence is shot. He's not stepping into 3s with rhythm (when he even has the confidence to trigger them), and he's not even running the floor like he did before signing the max contract. He has regressed and it's hard to watch. If I were Masai, I'd be pushing hard to deal him for Washington for a very unhappy Bradley Beal. It's very clear now that Siakam is not cut out to be a playoff-calibre #1 option.
