GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I would say really well thus far. Obviously it's only one signing but he also got rid of GV and replaced him with a defensive minded PG that the analytics love. Whether Wes Matthews signs here or not is going to be a huge piece of this. I think the team will go a completely different direction if he goes to Dallas or Sacramento If he does we should probably look at adding David West.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 This is actually from RealGM. You put De infront of any chuckers name. No, it's a Derozan specific thing.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 If he does we should probably look at adding David West. Agreed but the reason West left Indy was to pursue a ring. Does he think we are that much further ahead than Indy is to consider us? Hopefully his potential suitors can't add him, I would love to have him on the team
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 If David West is going to be the solution at PF I wish they would have just re-signed Amir to what Boston gave him.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 If David West is going to be the solution at PF I wish they would have just re-signed Amir to what Boston gave him. Not "the" solution but I have a feeling Amir really isn't going to play all that much. He's so worn down, unfortunately. Not that West isn't, but still. Assuming he's not EXPENSIVE, I'm cool with West/2Pat/JJ at PF. Leaves us with cap space. He also probably only wants one year which gives us flexibility for next year. I don't want to be paying Amir 12m next year when we're pursuing free agents.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Why would West take a one year deal when he's 34, declining, and might fall off a cliff any day now... And for all the talk of Amir's injury issues, he played more minutes than West last year and was more productive. If he is going to take a one year deal then fine.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Started on RealGM lol. I believe you are wrong. Adding "De" in front of a traditional name in order to make a more stupider name first began as a thing in modern American ghettos.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 West and Matthews would be a very nice way to finish off the roster, for this year anyway. Don't sleep on BRUNO CABACOLO though http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/85/files/2014/07/bruno_caboclo_smile.jpg
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 nope lol @ESPNSteinLine 4m4 minutes ago ESPN sources say that the Sacramento Kings have offered Wes Matthews a three-year deal in the $45 million range
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 That's a lot for a guy coming off a major injury.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 If Masai is dead set on getting another wing, I would love it if he could swing a trade for Danilo Gallinari.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 If Masai is dead set on getting another wing, I would love it if he could swing a trade for Danilo Gallinari. Speaking of wings coming off of major injuries.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Speaking of wings coming off of major injuries. Well at least he has come back and had a good stretch of games. Also, I love his name.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Well at least he has come back and had a good stretch of games. Also, I love his name. You make a good point and I can't argue with it. I do like him a lot. Can't imagine he'd cost much. What's his cap hit? Trade Machine is all wonky with FA.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 He's got 1 year left at 11.5. Not bad. They're rebuilding. Maybe flip Ross, Ridnour's non guaranteed contract and a top 20 protected first?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Not bad. They're rebuilding. Maybe flip Ross, Ridnour's non guaranteed contract and a top 20 protected first? It will probably take more than that but maybe Masai can work his magic.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 RIP Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine 4m4 minutes ago Wes Matthews Update: Sacramento offer to free-agent swingman is actually four-year deal at $16 million annually for total of $64 million

Just ludicrous that they offered Matthews that. I'm sure they were bidding against themselves.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 As @daldridgetnt just tweeted, Wes Matthews has officially given a verbal commitment to the Mavs after turning Sacramento down Wes Matthews has agreed in principle with the Mavericks on a four-year deal, per source. Turned down huge offer from Sacramento.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Yes we signed Bismack! 2 years/6 million
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Aldridge officially signs in San Antonio for anyone not following. I know Casey likes his two-point backcourts, I wonder if we could grab Eric Bledsoe or something, lol.
