I dont think so but you have to factor in the cap rising the last 2 years of the deal so it's probably fair.

Middleton resigns with the Bucks as well, 5/70.

Millsap offered a max from Hawks and Magic, which means Carrol is gone if he resigns

Why isn't Masai going after Millsap too? If he's willing to offer the max to Aldridge, why not Millsap? He might not have the hype but he's probably just as good.

Now if they're still going to go after LMA, Derozan's surely going to be traded, right?

Spurs are going to get LMA. They're closing in. Lakers didn't impress him (h/t Woj) and they just traded Splitter. Only thing standing in their way is Patty Mills' contract.

Stop pouring cold water over my dream of Derozan getting traded.

What I really meant was that even though we're not going to get LMA, we're going to deal Demar to LA for Clarkson and sign Millsap.

It's actually pretty amusing how stupid casual NBA fans are..maybe even worse than baseball. People actually think Carroll is a role player.

How good are Win Shares and VORP for basketball? Relate to baseball WAR plz.

Carroll's seem good. Top 5 on his team and would have been top 2/3 in Toronto.

Win Shares are dumn. They're relative to your team

Wins Produced, Real Plus-Minus and VORP are probably the best stats.

Win shares has as much to do with the team than the individual player. There's no reliable WAR stat for basketball I don't think since it's more so a team sport than baseball.

He is a role player. I'd much rather have a very good role player than a fake star like Derozan though.

jays_fever means role player like off the bench. Role player is a loose term.

I like this deal but only if masai has something more lined up. A core of Lowry/DD/Carroll/JV is still not going to move the needle much.

Well our starting PF right now is 2Pat. I can't imagine Masai finally taking a chance and making a big signing without anything else lined up, he seems like a plan thinker.

Carroll seems to me like someone you sign when you're one piece away from championship contention. I just hope this move is not signalling that they're moving forward with Lowry/DD.

I don't think this really has anything to do with the position of the team. Just seems like a perfect fit for this team. We needed shooting and defense, he gives us both.

Nothing wrong with Lowry I don't think. Demar is the biggest problem.

Yea by role player most people assume a bench guy or someone who supports the top players. You dont always need your top players to be high volume scorers. I don't understand the Matthews signing as well but whatevrr. Were going to be improved next year

If we keep JJ this offseason it'll at least be a break-even offseason, I think.
