It's trivial because you're wrong? You're the one who asked if I watched the games. Well I did and they looked bad defensively to me and all the metrics back that up. You're just making excuses for them to justify that what you thought you saw was right.

Lol okay I'm wrong because I thougjt they did a good.job.of rotating, closing out on shooters. Using a 7 game.sample of numbers to back up.your point and pound on your chest is amusing though

Brooklyn slayed the Thunder last night, and lost another to injury, Robertson, IIRC.

I'm retarded, I thought he meant the Raptors looked horrible against Brooklyn instead of OKC, didn't even see the 'last night' part.

So I'm not allowed to use statistics that show they gave up a high number of points per possession to back up my point that they played bad defensively in the playoffs?

Ok fine I'll concede on your account that Joe Johnson tore them up and they didn't force any turnovers... which somehow isn't part of defense apparently.

The Nets did a relatively good job at taking care of the ball against a very good Miami defense as well. It was a vet team that limited turnovers and made use of their possessions. My point was use stats to back up you argument, not just one giant, be all number

=

They were, second is preventing dunks, 6th in layups, 3rd in shutting down the corner three, 6th in defensive rebounding.

What really killed them is their fouling, they were second worse is opp FT/FG attempts, but the Nets were the worst in that regard which makes sense because of all the close games and just the tempo the series had, so yea im going to say that negatively inflated their defensive rating, along with their inability to cause turnovers ( but again im going to say thats a combination of what they do and the team their playing . Overall they were 8th in the playoffs out of 16 teams in defensive rating so even if you disagree with how I look at and approach things, im not sure how you can explicitly state they were "bad" when the only number you used puts them right in the middle of the pack

Why is Bebe not playing with Amir out? Should be an obvious guy to play IMO.

Is Bebe actually decent though? Id rather they just play small and play Hansbrough at the back up C for heavy minutes. It's one thing to play Hayes on the second night of a back to back with Amir out, its another to see him in this game

I hope the Nba considers reducing the number of time outs. I know they had an experiment game this year with 11 minute quarters and less timeouts. Keep the 12 minute quarters but reduce the timeouts IMO.

Good finish to the half. Second quarter was better than the first, they still need to tighten the D, specially inside, there is zero help defense.

Oh c'mon, you can't seriously be looking at playoff rankings when they didn't even face any of the elite offensive teams like Miami/San Antonio/Clippers etc. And I don't agree with the idea that their fouling and slow pace inflated their rating because that is how they played in the Reg season too. They were one of the leaders in fouls committed and were in the bottom third of the league in pace.

I can't use playoff rankings? Im trying to illustrate what they did compared to other teams in the playoffs at certain things..it's not like Brooklyn was an offensively inept team, there were 5 other teams in the playoffs with a worse OFF rating during the regular season.

I supposed to fouled to much and gave up easy points, but they protected the rim well, closed out on three point shooters and closed off possessions. To say they did a poor defensive job is ridiculous. Either way im over this

It's early but I'm pretty worried about this team moving forward.

-Casey clearly hates JV. He barely gets playing time and even when he's on the floor he gets zero plays called for him.

-His rotations are RETARDED. I get that you have a game tomorrow night... but you're running your 2nd unit out there for 10-12 minutes in a row. That is f***ing insane.

-Shots are eventually going to fall but this team has zero post presence outside of Amir. Patterson has zero impact down low.

The one thing that they SHOULDN'T do is panic and try to acquire another big though. Just ride this out. It'll get better once the guards start hitting these wide open shots.

They shot 31 three's tonight.

THIRTY ONE THREE POINTERS AGAINST A TEAM THAT HAD 6 PLAYERS BY THE END OF THE NIGHT.

Casey needs to rein these f***ers in. Attack the god damn basket.

It's not ridiculous because giving up 111 points per 100 possessions is objectively bad... it wasn't like Brooklyn were hitting a abnormal amount of contested shots. Yes, a lot of it was because of fouls, but believe it or not, not committing fouls is a part of playing defense.

We'll just agree to disagree.

31 threes is fine, at least they're not mid range jumpers.

I was at the game tonight. Pretty entertaining game even tho OKC had half a lineup. Few thoughts from the game:

-OKC hit every f***in shot in the 1st Q. Even when the raps had a hand up OKC made it.

-James Johnson looked really good as long as he doesn't shoot a jump shot. Great defence and surprisingly a good passer.

-Lowry seems to have no confidence in his shot right now. Hopefully the 3s start falling as he's had some open looks. Not to worried

-I like the high volume of 3s as a few seemed to just barely rim out. With Amir and JV out you pretty much had to play drive and kick anyways.

-Amir is really missed on both sides of the floor. He's a great defender and great on the PnR which is missing right now. Chuck Hayes has zero ability on offence. Worst finisher I think I've ever seen.

-Ross still can't dribble the basketball and needs to take the ball hard to the rim instead of laying up 5 feet from the basket.

-JV needs to dunk the ball.

Don't go Byron Scott on us now.

JV didn't get one play run for him in the post yesterday. The offensive gameplan is flawed. They're just freestyling/chucking right now.

The ball movement was much better yesterday vs the Miami game but it's just basically a bunch of quick passes on the perimeter with nothing going inside.
