Lowry to the Knicks?

 

After Rudy Gay's trade to the Sacramento Kings, the thinking was it could be the beginning of the Toronto Raptors' rebuild.

 

The team could be close to making their second move with that in mind.

 

According to a report from ESPN, the Raptors are trying to construct a deal with the New York Knicks that would involve Kyle Lowry.

 

Lowry has started all 20 games for the Raptors this season, this his second year in Toronto. The point guard has averaged 14.6 points per game and 6.7 assists.

 

The seven-year veteran has averaged 10.8 points and 5.1 assists per game over his career.

What pick was Michael Jordan drafted at? This team ain't signing a superstar in FA.

 

third overall after Hakeem and Bowie but keep in mind at the time Both Hakeem and bowie were both more highly thought of then Michael Jordan

What pick was Kobe Bryant drafted at?

 

In the lottery, and if he played in college for a year he would have been a top 5 pick.

 

Championship teams are built on top 10 picks and that is the norm. Even when Kobe won titles, he had Shaq and Pau Gasol, both top 5 picks.

 

Lets rest this debate, there is no point now since it's clear the raptors are tanking so I'm happy.

And for the record, I never said I wanted them to trade away players for nothing, few tanking teams ever do. Trade them for picks + prospects and that seems like what they are trying to do now.

Well that's what I wanted as well. I just didnt want them to gut the team and get nothing back for the few decent players (which is what a lot of people seemed to want so ensure a top 5 pick)they had to get a top pick.

None of the reports indicate that it was agreed upon though.

 

If the deal was Felton, Metta, and one of Shumpert/Hardaway/2018 pick... that's pretty underwhelming.

I read that it was agreed upon and then Dolan vetoed it before it was processed. Id like to get Hardaway plus a pick for Lowry, I think that's pretty fair. The Knicks are a pretty awfully run organization and that pick could easily turn into a top 5 pick even if its 4 years from now.

 

Either way have an organization leak a deal and then vetoing it is pretty bush league. Huge distraction for the players invovled

I want Plumlee or their 2020 pick.

 

For the Knicks trade it better be two of their three real assets.

Teletovic and taylor are crap... Bogdanovic hasn't even played a game in the nba yet...

 

Pretty garbage package unless Masai sees something in Bogdanovic.

No kidding. Seems getting rid of Gay was addition by subtraction. Granted it's only been a few games, but given that the east is so s*****, they can't really help but win a few

There's 2 teams in the east above .500 lol. If they really want to lock up a top 10 pick though, trade Lowry. There's no outtanking the Bucks Magic's of the league though
