JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Lowry to the Knicks? After Rudy Gay's trade to the Sacramento Kings, the thinking was it could be the beginning of the Toronto Raptors' rebuild. The team could be close to making their second move with that in mind. According to a report from ESPN, the Raptors are trying to construct a deal with the New York Knicks that would involve Kyle Lowry. Lowry has started all 20 games for the Raptors this season, this his second year in Toronto. The point guard has averaged 14.6 points per game and 6.7 assists. The seven-year veteran has averaged 10.8 points and 5.1 assists per game over his career. http://www.tsn.ca/nba/story/?id=438819
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 A first from the Nets would be pretty sweet. Maybe we can package him to the Warriors and steals Barnes
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Pacers model my ass, they're tanking.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Pacers model my ass, they're tanking. lol o f*** off. I still like how you won't admit very few of the elite teams have built their teams by tanking purposely and trading away their top players for nothing
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 What pick was Michael Jordan drafted at? This team ain't signing a superstar in FA.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 No one is giving up a first rounder, considering this might be the deepest draft since the 80's
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 What pick was Michael Jordan drafted at? This team ain't signing a superstar in FA. third overall after Hakeem and Bowie but keep in mind at the time Both Hakeem and bowie were both more highly thought of then Michael Jordan
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 third overall after Hakeem and Bowie but keep in mind at the time Both Hakeem and bowie were both more highly thought of then Michael Jordan 4 Hall of Fame players drafted in the first round of the 1984 draft, yeah I'd say it was a pretty deep draft
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 What pick was Michael Jordan drafted at? This team ain't signing a superstar in FA. What pick was Kobe Bryant drafted at?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 What pick was Kobe Bryant drafted at? In the lottery, and if he played in college for a year he would have been a top 5 pick. Championship teams are built on top 10 picks and that is the norm. Even when Kobe won titles, he had Shaq and Pau Gasol, both top 5 picks. Lets rest this debate, there is no point now since it's clear the raptors are tanking so I'm happy.

I still like how you won't admit very few of the elite teams have built their teams by tanking purposely and trading away their top players for nothing And for the record, I never said I wanted them to trade away players for nothing, few tanking teams ever do. Trade them for picks + prospects and that seems like what they are trying to do now.
theblujay Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 There's no one on the Knicks that I want.

I just didnt want them to gut the team and get nothing back for the few decent players (which is what a lot of people seemed to want so ensure a top 5 pick)they had to get a top pick.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 There's no one on the Knicks that I want. Hardaway, Shmpert
theblujay Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Hardaway, Shmpert Yeah I guess. I'd rather get a pick, but I don't think that's gonna happen.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 "The New York Knicks were prepared to trade Raymond Felton, Metta World Peace, plus either Iman Shumpert, Tim Hardaway Jr. or a 2018 first round pick to the Toronto Raptors for Kyle Lowry, but owner James Dolan has vetoed the deal." ] Owner's vetoing deals at the last minute after they were agreed upon..classy
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 None of the reports indicate that it was agreed upon though. If the deal was Felton, Metta, and one of Shumpert/Hardaway/2018 pick... that's pretty underwhelming.

If the deal was Felton, Metta, and one of Shumpert/Hardaway/2018 pick... that's pretty underwhelming. I read that it was agreed upon and then Dolan vetoed it before it was processed. Id like to get Hardaway plus a pick for Lowry, I think that's pretty fair. The Knicks are a pretty awfully run organization and that pick could easily turn into a top 5 pick even if its 4 years from now. Either way have an organization leak a deal and then vetoing it is pretty bush league. Huge distraction for the players invovled
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Yeah, Hardaway and the 2018 would be a pretty nice get. Having Metta in the deal would be nice too just for the LOLs.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 NBA Legion @MySportsLegion 2h The Nets are offering Mirza Teletovic, Tyshawn Taylor and Bojan Bogdanovic to the Raptors for Kyle Lowry. (Yahoo Sports) I'd kinda like this.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Raptors win again I guess someone missed the f***ing memo
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Raptors win again I guess someone missed the f***ing memo No kidding. Seems getting rid of Gay was addition by subtraction. Granted it's only been a few games, but given that the east is so s*****, they can't really help but win a few
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 There's 2 teams in the east above .500 lol. If they really want to lock up a top 10 pick though, trade Lowry. There's no outtanking the Bucks Magic's of the league though
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Well, we have a real back-up PG now.. plus the ball actually moves now with Gay not being there to hog the ball.

PuppyMagic Verified Member Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I hope Wiggins comes to Toronto He possesses what it takes to be the next Steve Nash
PuppyMagic Verified Member Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Maybe trading Rudy Gay made the team more masculine and heterosexual
